How to Throw Thai Style Repeat Kicks with Speed

02:23
We once again turn to effective drills, technical instruction and focus. I appreciate you guys reaching out and asking questions after viewing the past tutorials. In a number of the drills I have displayed in the past I include the double kick, and even if I don't. . . I should. If your initial kick is thrown with proper technique and center of balance, the ability to throw the second kick (or 10 more) will be smooth and rather effortless. Throwing repeat kicks is not only one of the best ways to increase kicking endurance, but it also serves as a supervisory check of balance and technique. The Top Drills and Quality Technical Instruction Needed to Create a Powerful Clinch Game, Quick Combinations, An Impregnable Defense, and Balance - All On Your Own. http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/heavybagmanual Why don't we see more fight finishes with the low kick in Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts? To some, the image of Anderson Silva's broken tibia may come to mind. Of course there are repercussions & counters to every technique that we commit to. There even are repercussions to checking a kick; what if you can use your opponent's check to your advantage? They say best way is to get around it, but I say. . . we go through it like men. I call this technique the "unstoppable low kick" because it provides you with a solution to an opponent with a "weak check" and the fake to those who have a strong check. Elbow Blitz Combination - Muay Thai

03:02
Improve your hand speed, technique, and reaction speed == http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/thaiboxing Tutorial Taught by: Marco Merlo of Spirit of Siam Gym, Chiang Mai, Thailand. www.SpiritofSiamgym.com We have seen fighters such as Melvin Manhoef with a punch heavy blitz. An elbow blitz, however, is an underutilized form of technical savagery. There is an issue with "hand heavy" blitzes when our competition holds their ground, refusing to fall back on their heels. In addition to this an effectively tight guard can crowd or completely block the punches [often the case with strong Dutch Kickboxers]. This is where the elbow comes in. The stubborn and tight defense works against them in this case. We use the elbow blitz to our advantage to stab straight through the competition's soul. . . literally. Solo Bag Drills: Switching Stances & Proper Weight Transfer by Eddie Abasolo of CSA Gym. Dublin, CA. When it comes to solo drills, there is no boxer better to look to than Eddie Abasolo. He is the man to go to when it comes to training in the dark and to becoming creative - the technical improvements that Eddie has made in the last two years as a professional fighter speak for themselves. Many programs are now teaching how to fight from both stances - it is most prominent in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. This assassin has his own philosophy that he teaches when it comes to changing stances, mastered through hours of work complimented by training on his own to perfect this craft. Eddie's accessory work is his meditation, a way to get creative and to sharpen his skills without beating on his body in addition to the long days that he already puts in at the gym. The WBC National champion uses this drill during his solo bag work to strike efficiently from both stances and to transfer his weight properly - creating an even stronger, more balanced base to work from. How to Set Up Combinations and Shift Before the Jab | Boxing and Muay Thai

02:24
The Patreon Exclusive Library of Content: http://Patreon.com/LimitlessProject Basic Boxing Combination: Setting up combinations and shift before throwing the jab. Driving in on your opponent with a combination can be an intimidating feat. If caught early on, the counter we felt can keep us from opening up for the entire round, keeping our offense at bay. This is a tactic I often like to use to set up my combinations: shifting my feet after the cross, creating an angle for the jab to stab through the opponent's centerline and finishing the combination off with follow up punches. Getting the opponent off balance with fundamental strikes such as the jab opens up more options and follow up combinations. Knees Versus Aggressive Opponents | Muay Thai, Kickboxing & MMA

02:28
Scoring and Finishing Fights Against Aggressive Opponents This is a technique created and utilized well against the aggressive opponent. It would be appropriate to say that it works respectively well against the Dutch Style Kickboxer; a prime example being Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong bouts Kickboxing & Glory rules. The aggressive stylist tends to block the kick with the arm, absorbing its power and shifting back its momentum by throwing a tight counter. This type of response elicits the optimal opportunity, allowing the opponent to impale him with the long knee to the liver or chest; aimed at the solar plexus to paralyze the diaphragm. If you are a southpaw, both targets are available with the rear knee. If you fight from an orthodox stance, the switch kick to switch knee option is best for the liver and chest.  For More Top Drills and Quality Technical Instruction Needed to Create a Powerful Clinch Game, Quick Combinations, An Impregnable Defense, and Balance - All On Your Own. Heavy Bag Knockout Combination Patterns

02:59
http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/heavybagmanual Patterning in Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Boxing and all combat sports is a form of trickery often bypassed by the eyes of a casual viewer. It's effectiveness is heavily based on a high level of fundamentals; the better that you are at the basics, the smoother the transition between two similar, but completely different techniques. There are many ways to set a pattern, it can be with rhythmic movement by taking the body out of natural rhythm, by changing the tempo within a combination or by engaging your opponent's mind on something that builds trust in predictability, only to sell the lie - a different angle and trajectory, or a different technique all together. learning the principals will give you a better understanding of advanced movements; both offensively (to set traps) and defensively (to recognize them before it is too late). I thought that a lesson on this topic was critical and I have decided to release a video from my Heavy Bag Training Manual covering (one of the forms) of pattern setting and breaking by utilizing explosive combinations.  Download your free copy of the Heavy Bag Training Manual: http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/heavybagmanual 🎥All of our full courses and premium content is located withinin Nak Muay Nation, the largest quality resource for Muay Thai content on the web⤵ http://bit.ly/NakMuayNationPremium

Saenchai Style Stutter Kick Technique Tutorial

03:15
How to close distance with the kick. Saenchai is known for his trickery against bigger, stronger, and taller opponents. As a shorter fighter it may be difficult to get in close or to make a sizable opponent freeze in place. There is no one better at solving this issue in the game of Muay Thai then the legend Saenchai himself. Interestingly enough, I have began to use this technique as a tall fighter. I noticed that after landing a number of hard kicks to the body, my opponents would often shift to hang back & outside of my kicking range - waiting for me to come forward. To close the distance against a smaller and possibly faster fighter who is running on the outside of my long range. . . this fake became my solution. Tall or short, the technique that you see popularized by the legend Saenchai can now become a part of your arsenal. Knee Counter to the Clinch Sweep | Regaining Balance and Control

02:09
Catching a kick is rather straightforward; we are cautious of a possible catch and counter when throwing it. But, how often do we work on our defense in close proximity? Close proximity such as the clinch, where our leg can get caught when throwing knees. In this tutorial, Marco of Spirit of Siam Gym [Chiang Mai, Thailand] goes over the proper defense to counter this common sweep as well as some basic principals on regaining balance and control. Muay Thai Knockout Kick Setup

02:26
Muay Thai Kick Setup Most intelligent fighter's will circle away from your power side, but that is a very small part of the game. Our set ups should provide us with the correct angle to execute the technique. It's rather simple - if your opponent's footwork is causing them to get away from your power low kick, body kick, or high kick... You place them where you need them. How to Correctly Catch a Kick and Counter | Muay Thai Athlete

02:23
Improve your hand speed, technique, and reaction speed == http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/thaiboxing Catching the kick is something that is often taught in an inefficient way. Although a basic step and catch can work against low level competition, as we progress it becomes a bad habit. Experienced opponents will use a wall block or easily fidget their way out of the catch. We have to use subtle modification to make our competition aware of a tight defense. As we explained in our Authoritative Defense Tutorial, having tight defensive technique ensures easy counters and a lot of hesitation from the opposition. How to Wrap Your Hands for EXTRA Protection | Muay Thai, Kickboxing or Boxing

01:53
This is an interactive video tutorial on how to wrap your hands taught by Kru Mon in Thailand. Mon utilizes every inch of the wrap to create extra protection for the knuckles and wrist. 180" Wraps are recommended for this hand wrap style whether it be for Boxing, Kickboxing or Muay Thai. The initial knuckle pad that you see can also be folded in half before being placed on top of the knuckles to double its thickness (my preference). Put this wrap to work, let us know how you like it, and share with your friends if you do! Kru Mon, also known as the Yoda of Muay Thai, is one of the trainers at our upcoming Thailand Training Camp experience. With every experience that we hold, we make sure that it is more memorable then the last - Private Group Training in Paradise. Top 4 Shoulder Opening Stretches - Pre and Post Workout (Using Resistance Band)

03:19
A person of almost any dynamic suffers from shoulder discomfort. The desk jocky with poor posture. The worker who constantly lifts things overhead and most definitely the combat sport athlete who's training requires them to stand in a rounded posture; pushing, punching, and rarely pulling. To balance out all of the forward movement of the shoulder, we must take care of the entire shoulder capsule. To do this I have put together my four favorite shoulder opening stretching that I use before and after each workout to keep my shoulders, lats, and chest from becoming too stiff and ultimately inactive. Training Control, Balance, and Power for Muay Thai | Muay Thai Athlete

01:59
Improve your hand speed, technique, and reaction speed == http://www.MuayThaiAthlete.com/thaiboxing On a daily basis, we go through partner drills, bag drills, and shadowboxing drills to test our balance before and after being offensive, ensuring that we have proper control of our body and hold the ability to counter at any given moment. This has been the main focus of my time here in Thailand as I will be closing in on my fifth month here. Being out of position or balance doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to get knocked out; many are able to compensate with athleticism or in other forms. However, you become severely limited when it comes to scoring and countering back. The Thai's specialize in the game of defending, attacking, defending again, and countering in an efficient matter; staying in a range where they can choose to attack, defend, or counter without re-adjusting. The re-adjustment before striking often becomes a "tell", a give away of what you are about to strike with. Now that we covered the purpose behind obtaining body control of power and balance, let's take a look at why Namsaknoi chooses to use the resistance bands at least once a week to simultaneously test the control we have over our body and mind. 3 Shadow Boxing Tips to SPEED Up Your Progress

06:19
Focusing on shadowboxing and visualization in Muay Thai, Boxing, and all other combat sports is key to speeding up your progress. [Notes] Shadowboxing & Footwork Focus Video: Introduction to Dynamic Shadowboxing. Starting today, your mind will be in a tactical state throughout each training session. Your shadowboxing will now be the most important part of your training; evolving throughout the session as you progress to the heavy bag, pads and ultimately sparring - all focused around your goal for the day. Starting at the beginning of each solo or group session: 1. Set a Goal for the Training Session Think about the last few weeks of training. What have been your most limiting movements? Perhaps you have had a hard time keeping your balance whilst throwing & retracting the teep. Do you have more difficulty moving one way versus the other? Make a mental note of this, state your goal for the day (we’ll use footwork and balance in this case) and focus on just this one thing. Detach yourself from everything else including kicking technique, head movement etc. Let your body flow while you maintain proper distance and balance, avoid crossing your feet, and maintain good footwork mechanics. Moving right? "Right foot first" Moving back? Tell yourself, “back foot first, maintain authoritative structure and balance”. 2. Visualize [the Glove is Now Your Target] . . .
