Latest innovations are gradually becoming more involved in transport design and engineering. At first electric drivetrains were used in cars, then in trucks, vans and motorcycles. Now it seems that this smart technology is making its way in the bike world. Why would you need electric drive motors, smart displays and infotainment systems on a bicycle? The answer is simple, modern living requires new technologies being applied to classic vehicles. All-electric bicycles make amazing city commuters and enable people to switch from cars to two-wheel rides in the cities. It should be noted that many companies don't want to give their smart bicycles futuristic looks, on contrary, there are amazing e-bicycles that come with stylish retro designs, hand-crafted elements and vintage features. This video briefly reviews latest bicycle inventions of 2019. All of the media clips, images and video material used for make this presentation are shown for educational and illustrative purposes, All of the sources are shown in the credits section at the end of the video. Smart retro bicycles look extremely neat outside but on the inside they hide a bunch of neat features that could turn city commuting or cycling into a fun daily adventure.

I disassemble, clean, lube, replace the ball bearings and re-assemble the bottom bracket on a early 70's Peugeot road bike. I believe it's a UO-8. The bike was made in France so has the right hand threading for the fixed cup. The bearings are loose with eleven 1/4" ball bearings on each side. I also remove the cottered cranks and have to file new pins to fit. One of the cotter pins was stuck, so I had to drill it out. These are the two Park Tool wrenches I used: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000C17KRI/ref=nosim/youtube25-20 https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000AOA2G8/ref=nosim/youtube25-20 ▶ SUBSCRIBE & HIT THE 🔔 http://bit.ly/SubRJTheBikeGuy 👍 And please give my video a thumbs up 👍 ▶FACEBOOK.com/RJTheBikeGuy https://www.facebook.com/RJTheBikeGuy ▶TOOLS http://www.rjthebikeguy.com/tools ▶SHIRTS http://bit.ly/RJBikeGuyShirts ▶WEBPAGE http://www.RJTheBikeGuy.com

Polish firm Kosynier wants to add to that growing list with these vintage cycles, which resemble motorcycles from the early 20th century. Each e-bike is handmade in Buk, Poland by local craftsmen, and the family-run company is looking to take things global. This month, Kosynier began crowdfunding on Indiegogo with a goal of raising $100,000 to support the purchase of components and to begin e-bike assembly. According to their timeline, the first batch of bikes will be ready in March 2017.

There are many things I like about vintage bicycles. They are built to last a lifetime, simple and comfortable. In addition to these is the fact that they contain many items not found on current bicycles such as fender ornaments, revolving brass bells, celluloid grips, handlebar bades, rod brakes, enameled head badges, chromed crown forks, beaded edge tires, chrome tipped forks, chrome beaded edge rims, ornate fender stays, mud flaps, sprung leather saddles and enameled rear fender badges just to name a few. In other words, they don't make them like they used to. This is the first half of a two part series appropriately entiteld: "They don't make them like they used to". https://electricbikereview.com/civi-bikes/cheetah/ The CIVI BIKES Cheetah is a motorcycle inspired fat tire electric bike with powerful 750 watt geared hub motor from Bafang, unique battery integration designed to look like a gas tank, two battery size options. High-volume tires provide comfort and stability, padded grips, oversized sprung saddle, and swept back handlebar deliver comfort and an upright body position, this bike can handle taller riders. With a maximum allowable weight of 330lbs (150kb) this is a great electric bike for big people, integrated headlight has high and low beam, beautiful paint matched steel chain cover, three color options. Only available in one frame size, basic 7-speed drivetrain with somewhat limited 13 to 38 tooth cassette means there aren't as many options for climbing or pedaling at high speed, I experienced some delay with the 12-magnet cadence sensor but the twist throttle is smooth and both brake levers have motor inhibitors. This thing is a sturdy electric bike that would work well for big people, whether you're tall or just heavy. It really looks a lot like Sam's Harley motorcycle when we compared the two in his parking lot. To run the forums, host the website, and travel, I charge a universal service fee for reviews and in-depth videos like this. My goal is to be transparent and unbiased, this video and accompanying written review are not meant to be an endorsement. Because this video involved payment from CIVI BIKES, I am labeling it as #Sponsored

I often rant about the impracticality of most bikes I see on the streets these days, with their sensitive gearing and overloaded tech. But sometimes, I come across a bike that is unique, beautiful and cool enough to overcome my ranting tendencies. Here's an example. The Greaser: a beast of an e-bike built in the style of a 1950's cafe racer motorcycle that makes no sense on a lot of levels. It's big, heavy, unruly and completely fun to ride. This I a vintage style speedometer most commonly found on eBay for around 20 u.s dollars. It comes with a piece that connects your wheel to the speedometer, a cable, the mount for the actual speedometer and the speedometer it's self. Overall I'll give this speedometer an 8 because you can't see the numbers at night and the nut on the back gets lose but as a speedometer/ odometer it works great and I would recommend anyone get this for there bike. This will not fit on quick release wheels.

I show how to update a vintage 10 speed bike (Raleigh Grand Prix) to 14 speeds with Shimano SIS indexed shifting. I spread the chain stays to accommodate a wider wheel. The 5 speed hub rear wheel is replaced with another 27" wheel with a 6/7 speed hub and 7 spd freewheel. I also replace the rear derailleur, chain. And the Huret friction shifters were replaced with Shimano indexed shifters. If I wanted to put the money into it, I could have easily spread the chain stays to 130mm, and upgraded the bike with an 8/9/10 speed hub wheel. But that would have meant going to 700c wheels. And the whole thing would have cost more. ▶ SUBSCRIBE & HIT THE 🔔 http://bit.ly/SubRJTheBikeGuy 👍 And please give my video a thumbs up 👍 ▶FACEBOOK.com/RJTheBikeGuy https://www.facebook.com/RJTheBikeGuy ▶TOOLS http://www.rjthebikeguy.com/tools ▶SHIRTS http://bit.ly/RJBikeGuyShirts ▶WEBPAGE http://www.RJTheBikeGuy.com

Are modern wheels better than old school wheels? We took a couple of sets out on the road to compare. Click here to subscribe to GCN: http://gcn.eu/SubscribeToGCN A lot has changed in the field of wheel design. Much of this change has come about thanks to advances in carbon fibre engineering, allowing wheels to be lighter and stiffer than their aluminium forefathers. Fewer spokes, wider tyres and deeper section rims have come as a result of a greater investment in the study of bike aerodynamics. 19mm tyres are now pretty much unheard of for professionals and amateurs alike these days. Integrated LED lights by Spanninga, comfortable CST balloon tires with reflective sidewall stripes and a generic flick bell are included standard which improve visibility and safety. Older style headsets attached to threaded steerers need to be serviced once a year. This is quite a big job that involves quite a number of steps, but will ensure that it lasts for a very long time. This is in contrast to new style cartridge bearings that can be left alone for quite a long time, but have to be thrown out once they are worn. This is a long guide, so you can choose to either watch the entire video above, or follow it in smaller chunks by clicking on the individual steps below. Steps to Overhaul The Headset Attached To A Threaded Steerer On A Bike: Subscribe to our videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/madegoodorg?sub_confirmation=1 Visit our website: https://www.madegood.com/bikes/ Visit our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/user/madegoodorg 00:06 Identify A Bike's Headset Type The bike headset is the hinge that allows the handlebars and front wheel to turn relative to the back wheel. There are two basic types. The new version is simple and light but - once set-up - doesn't allow much adjustment of the handlebar height. The old version is more complicated and heavier and requires special tools to adjust but usually allows more adustment of the handlebar height. 01:01 Service The Bike Headset On A Threaded A bike headset on a threaded steerer needs to be serviced once a year. This involves taking the assembly apart, cleaning, inspecting, relubricating and reassembling. If your bike has sealed cartridge bearings you don't need to service it until it stops working correctly but you may need to take it apart once to find out what kind of bearings it has. If the bike is used in dirty conditions, gets washed a lot or has no front-mudguard underneath the fork it may need to be serviced and regreased more often. 11:19 Adjust The Bike Headset On A Threaded If you find your headset is too loose or too tight you need to adjust the bearing(link). Riding with a maladjusted headset will be more difficult and less comfortable and will wear out the bearing prematurely. 13:25 Adjust A Bike's Handlebars Attached To A It's simple to adjust the height of the handlebars with an old-style threaded steerer-tube as the handlebar stem telescopes into the steerer tube and expands to lock there. In this system the handlebar stem is a completely separate system from the headset bearing that allows the front wheel to 'steer'. 16:28 Check The Headset On A Bike The headset on a bike is the most important bearing on the bike. It allows you to balance the forces while you're riding so you don't fall over. If it's too loose or too tight the bike may be uncomfortable to ride and the headset will wear out faster than if it's correctly adjusted. #BikeRepair #HowTo #BicycleMaintenance

My friend wanted a small size women's road bike. I hunted around and found this vintage Terry Prism road bicycle for her. It had been converted to hybrid type bars as well as other changes. I stripped it to the bare frame, cleaned/overhauled everything, and put it back together converting it back to drop bars, and updating it to brifters (integrated brake/shift levers). The restoration took nearly a week, but would have gone much faster if I hadn't been shooting video. Also I was mostly working in the evenings. This style of bike with a smaller front wheel is called a "proportional bike". Terry Bicycles is a company started by Georgena Terry to design and build bikes for women. If you wondering why the smaller front wheel, watch this video (and part 2): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD7rq568Nvw 👍If the video was useful or interesting please give it a "thumbs up" and consider subscribing at http://bit.ly/SubRJTheBikeGuy ▶SUBSCRIBE! http://bit.ly/SubRJTheBikeGuy 🔔 TURN ON THE NOTIFICATIONS🔔 ▶FACEBOOK.com/RJTheBikeGuy https://www.facebook.com/RJTheBikeGuy ▶TOOLS http://www.rjthebikeguy.com/tools ▶SHIRTS http://bit.ly/RJBikeGuyShirts ▶WEBPAGE http://www.RJTheBikeGuy.com
