Here is the top list of mysterious sunken underwater cities in the world found underwater! These strange and mindblowing but also amazing forgotten ancient underwater ruins are located deep into the ocean. Check out Alexandria, City of Cuba, Yonaguni, Lake Titicaca, Pavlopetri, Lion City, Heracleion and more underwater cities! Yonaguni Pyramids In the mid 80s, Divers found underwater rock terraces and pyramids off the coast of Yonaguni Jima. Yonaguni Jima is an island that lies near the southern tip of Japan's Ryukyu archipelago, About 75 miles off the eastern coast of Taiwan. At first scientists believed they might be natural formations, but There are quarry marks and some writing on the stones and animal statues that have also been found underwater. Now some experts believe that The structures Could be what is left of the mythical city of Mu, a fabled Pacific civilization rumored to have vanished beneath the waves. Masaki Kimura, a marine geologist from the University of Japan, Has been studying the underwater pyramids for over 15 years. The underwater structures include castle ruins, a triumphal arch, five temples and at least one large stadium, all of which are Connected by roads and water channels and are partly shielded by what could be huge retaining walls. Kimura believes the ruins date back to at least 5,000 years, based on the dates of stalactites found inside underwater caves that he says sank with the city. The theory is that the ancient underwater city Might have been sunk by an earthquake or tsunami around 2,000 years ago. Yonaguni invites tourists and researchers to dive freely around the site. 2. Sunken City of Cuba In 2001, A company called Advanced Digital Communications (ADC) was working with Fidel Castro's government to explore Cuban waters looking for sunken Spanish ships loaded with treasure. Their Sonar equipment picked up a series of geometrical structures lying on the bottom of the ocean. Here's a computer generated image of the pyramids and other structures found underwater. The structures and design made it look like there was A gigantic underwater city at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. The media went crazy claiming that Atlantis had been discovered in Cuba. There are local legends of the Maya and native Yucatecos that tell of an Island inhabited by their ancestors that vanished beneath the waves. If it's true the structures were made by an ancient civilization, they would have been the Most technologically advanced structures on the planet at that time. Scientists estimate that they would have been built about 50,000 years ago which doesn't seem very likely. The numerous structures and cities that have been discovered underwater around the world Lie less than 120 meters (or 395 feet) below sea level, which comes as no surprise since the sea level never fell below this mark during the time Homo sapiens walked the earth. This Cuban city, if we can call it that, is the Only exception since It is submerged over 700 meters (2300 feet) underwater. If the large structures are actually pyramids, 2 of them are Even larger than the pyramids of Giza and Cheops in Egypt. As of yet there is no plausible explanation for the existence of this city and ADC is still trying to investigate the site. 3. Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca is Located in the Andes between Bolivia and Peru. It is the largest freshwater lake in South America and was the cradle of Peru's ancient civilizations, including the Inca. Their presence can be seen on Lake Titicaca by the ruins they left behind, including A mysterious underwater temple thought to be between 1,000 and 1,500 years old. In the Incan creation myth, The god Con Tiqui Viracocha emerged from Lake Titicaca. After commanding the sun, moon, and the stars to rise, Viracocha created more human beings from stone. After bringing them to life, Viracocha Commanded them to go and populate the world. The Incas therefore believed that Lake Titicaca was their place of origin, and that upon death, Their spirits would return to this lake. Archeologists located a huge temple in 2000 after following a submerged road (and I'm sure following advice from locals). After 18 days of diving below the clear waters of Titicaca, scientists said they had Discovered a 660-foot long, 160-foot wide temple, a terrace for crops, and a 2,600-foot containing wall along with gold and statues. It is said the lost city was Covered with sediment during a great flood of biblical proportions and local people had passed down the stories of the underwater temple and flood from generation to generation.

Secrets of the Castle: Why Build A Castle? | Episode 1 | (Medieval Documentary) | Timeline

58:51
Check out our new website for more incredible history documentaries: HD and ad-free. http://bit.ly/2O6zUsK Historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Peter Ginn and Tom Pinfold turn the clock back as they learn how to build a medieval castle using the tools, techniques and materials available in the 13th century. Although Britain has some of the finest remaining castles of the medieval period, many of their secrets have been lost to time. Peter and Tom set to work straight away, learning the skills of the medieval stonemasons to construct a beautiful spiral staircase. After digging stone out of the quarry, they take it to the tracing floor, where every stone is marked out using the most closely guarded knowledge of the medieval castle builders: geometry. Then each step is hand-carved, a three-day task, before being winched into place using the treadmill-powered crane. Content licensed from Lion Tv. Any queries, please contact us at: [email protected]

CASTLE ON THE SEA - Kingdoms and Castles

More Kingdoms and Castles gameplay here: http://bit.ly/Kingdoms-Castles-Gameplay ★Buy Kingdoms and Castles https://www.g2a.com/r/buy-kingdoms-and-castles (* Use SHD code for 3% CASHBACK. I get a little commission for every purchase you make ) Inspired by the SimCity series, Banished, and Stronghold, here's the direction we're thinking of taking: Kingdoms and Castles is about growing a kingdom from a tiny hamlet to a sprawling city and imposing castle. Your kingdom must prove its existence in a living and dangerous world. Do the viking raiders make off with your villagers? Or are they stopped, full of arrows, at the castle gates? Does a dragon torch your granary, your people dying of starvation in the winter, or are you able to turn the beast back? The success of your kingdom depends solely on your skill as a city and castle planner. City Design Lay out and expand your town strategically to improve your peasants' happiness and to attract new residents. Make sure your peasants are fed in the winter and healed of plagues. Build churches and taverns to keep them from despair. Fortify and Defend The new land you're settling is at risk of viking invasion. These raiders seek to kidnap and kill your peasants, steal your resources, and burn your town. Build walls and towers to defend against the viking threat. Living World And it all takes place in a beautiful dynamic world. Clouds dance across the sky, birds soar above the trees. Forests grow and wood cutters can clear cut or manage their forests. Seasons cycle from summer to winter. Waves lap against the shore. The clouds part, birds fly over your land, viking raiders are spotted on the horizon. All the pieces come together to generate amazing stories of both triumph and loss for your kingdom, but with your wisdom, perhaps your kingdom will prevail. ★Strategy and Real Time Strategy Games gameplay you may like: ►Strategy Games Gameplay: http://bit.ly/Strategy-Gameplay ►Real Time Strategy Games Gameplay: http://bit.ly/RTS-Gameplay ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬«§»▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ FACEBOOK! ► http://bit.ly/SergiuHellDragoon WEBSITE! ► http://bit.ly/SergiuhellDragoonHQ Google+ ► http://bit.ly/H2Gvli TWITTER! ► http://bit.ly/SergiuHellDragoonHQ Buy Mighty T-Shirts! ► http://bit.ly/Mighty-T-Shirts Buy Mighty Games! ► http://bit.ly/SergiuG2A ■▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬«§»▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬■ Thank you for watching and make sure to join the Kingdom! DUNLUCE CASTLE; Medieval Castle on Cliffs, Castles in Northern Ireland-Antrim Coast #Causeway Route

07:43
One of the must visit locations along the coast of Northern Ireland. Once you see it - you will understand why. Even the drive to it is enchanting. Read more on the castles here - hope you enjoy the video :-) Location - 87 Dunluce Road, Bushmills BT57 8UY, UK The name ‘Dunluce’ translates into ‘fort of the fort’, however, no one knows the meaning of the earlier name ‘Dunliphis’. Dunluce Castle is a medieval castle in Northern Ireland, County Antrim. The castle is surrounded by very steep drops on each side, which is what drew the early Christians and Vikings to this place where an early Irish fort once stood. The Castle is under the care of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency. History In the 13th century, Richard Óg de Burgh, the 2nd Earl of Ulster, built the first castle at Dunluce. Historical resources first document the castle in 1513 in the hands of the McQuillan family. The McQuillans were the Lords of Route beginning from the 13th century until they lost two major battles against the MacDonnells during the 16th century. Situated one hundred feet above the ocean, Dunluce Castle was the seat of the chief of Clan MacDonnell of Antrim and the Clan MacDonald of Dunnyveg. In 1584, the Sorley Boy MacDonnell seized the Antrim Glens, swearing allegiance to Queen Elizabeth I and consequently his son Randal was made 1st Earl of Antrim by King James I. Four years later, a ship from the Spanish Armada, dubbed the Girona, was shipwrecked on the rocks nearby. The ship was taken apart as the cannons were installed in the gatehouses and the rest of the cargo was sold and the funds were used to restore and expand the castle. Although the castle dates back to the 13th century, a soutterain has been discovered in the area that dates back to 1,500 years ago. This historic castle has been the site of numerous battles, over a one hundred year period it was besieged numerous times. It is also a location of many legends. A local legend states that at one point, part of the kitchen next to the cliff face collapsed into the sea. According to a widely known legend, when the kitchen collapsed, only a kitchen boy survived the crash, as he was sitting in the only corner of the kitchen that did not collapse. However, the kitchen is still intact and situated next to the manor house. You can still see the oven, fireplace and entry ways into it. It wasn't until sometime in the 18th century that the north wall of the castle building collapsed into the sea. Another story revolves around Maeve Roe who was locked away by her father in the castle's north-eastern tower for refusing to marry her suitor. However, she managed to escape with her true love and fled to Mermaids Cave where they fled by boat, but they were dashed against the cliffs. Maeve's ghost is said to still sweep her prison tower. Another legend involves the MacDonnells, who after their expulsion besieged the castle more than once until their forces climbed into the corner towers and hanged the English captain. His ghost is said to haunt a tower. Dunluce Castle served as the seat of the Earl of Antrim until 1690. Afterwards, the castle fell into ruin. In 2011, archaeological excavations conducted in the area discovered the remains of the town of Dunluce, which was destroyed during the Irish uprising of 1641. The town was built in 1608 by Randall MacDonnell, the first Earl of Antrim. It may have contained the innovative housing in Europe during the early 17th century, which included indoor toilets which had barely been introduced in the rest of Europe at the time, and a complex street network based on a grid system. Visitors to the area can explore the cobbled streets and a Scottish merchants house, a blacksmith's forge, a courthouse and a dungeon. There is also plenty of evidence of wealth and luxury, including coins from the period of Elizabeth I and Charles I. One of the iconic historical figures linked to the castle is Winston Churchill who once owned the estate and it was passed onto his family. The castle has actually inspired many literary works over the years, including the orchestral tone poem Dunluce (1921) by Irish composer Norman Hay, and it also thought to be the inspiration behind Cair Paravel in C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia (1950–1954). The castle is also the subject of a 1990s song named "Dunluce Castle" written by George Millar and sung by the Irish Rovers. The Dunluce Castle has also been featured in the HBO hit drama series Game of Thrones, doubling as the stronghold of Pyke on the Iron Islands. See some stunning photos of the castle - http://www.connollycove.com/dunluce-castle-county-antrim/ Also visit - Bushmills Town, a village on the north coast of County Antrim. It has a famous building there too ;-) Do you know what it is? House of Greyjoy inspiration! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neoDFRpzfFA)

(iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/zjt9mfn , Spotify: http://tinyurl.com/jtmpuzo ) Lyrics: The colors of the winter melt into the sea The walkers and their pimps are back out on the streets I look out to the window to the theater of this town A memory of sorrow is aching like a wound The heroes of the past are dying one by one Their music now unheard, their voices now undone Their names fading away like a castle in the sand And all that is now left is the dust in our hands And I don't know what has become Of all our dreams, of all our songs They seem to get lost in the way Or exchanged for roles in someone’s cage The children of today made heroes of their own They too will be forgotten as some will take 'em on This circle of illusion, it never stops to spin The fate of our beliefs is at the mercy of a whim The color of your hands has paled with the years The lines around your mouth bear witness to your fears And yet you look the same to me, in the mirror of my eyes The beauty of your spirit will never really die And I don't know what has become Of all our dreams, of all our songs They seem to get lost in the way Or exchanged for roles in someone’s cage

Scotland Cottages by Water | COTTAGES & CASTLES

03:24
On our journey last year we were lucky enough to visit and film lots of the holiday homes that we have set by the water in Scotland, so we wanted to highlight three of our favourites here. There is nothing more relaxing that being next to the water, everything from the gentle sounds of lapping water to the call of sea birds that surround you. We were lucky enough to see Seals on our trip to Arran and of course you are always visited by a Seagull when picnicking next to the ocean! Tangle Tower in Inverness, Strone Castle Cottage on Loch Ness and Grahamfield on the Isle of Arran were the Highlights last year. All three are stylish, quirky and most importantly, homely. All three are set right next to the water giving you the option to be a water baby for a week or so. Check out the full videos over on our channel when you get a chance. Tangle Tower is located on the outskirts of Inverness in the Highlands. Sleeps 6 and accepts short breaks: https://www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/self-catering/tangle-tower-1894/ Strone Castle Cottage is located on the banks of Loch Ness overlooking the famous Urqhuart Castle. Sleeps 4 and accepts short breaks: https://www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/self-catering/strone-castle-cottage-1942/ Grahamfield is set on the shores of the sea in a small village called Whiting Bay on the Isle of Arran. Sleeps 7 and accepts short breaks: https://www.cottages-and-castles.co.uk/self-catering/grahamfield-1969/ We hope you enjoy the video and always welcome any questions below. Our gorgeous drone photography is taken by a talented chap called Daniel Wilcox (danielwilcoxphotography.com) and the filming and editing is all done in house.
