02:45
Drowsy driving could be responsible for thousands more deaths on U.S. roads every year than first thought. New research from AAA says drowsiness could play a part in nearly 10 percent of all crashes. In the last month, 29 percent of drivers admit to being behind the wheel when they had a hard time keeping their eyes open. Kris Van Cleave reports. DUI Checkpoints More Dangerous Than Drunk Driving

02:53
Why don't police volunteer to do checkpoints on their vacation time or even their days off? Checkpoints are about police relaxing and taking the night off while collecting overtime pay. They are a safety risk endangering everybody on the road. CopBlock Video Vault shows how Americans lost what was left of their freedom. This is a random render I selected by picking a day 3 years ago exactly. I was happy to see Ricky Munday in it too. Files from 1-21 & 22-2015.

Cell phones as dangerous as drunk driving

00:33
http://www.Cellphonelies.com Is having a cell phone pressed to your ear while behind the wheel the equivalent of driving while intoxicated? According to a study by University of Utah psychologists, the answer is, unfortunately, yes. "Just like you put yourself and other people at risk when you drive drunk, you put yourself and others at risk when you use a cell phone and drive," writes David Strayer, a psychology professor and the study's lead author. "The level of impairment is very similar." The study, published in the June 29 issue of Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, found that drivers talking on cell phones, either handheld or hands-free, are more likely to crash because they are distracted by conversation. Using a driving simulator under four different conditions: with no distractions, using a handheld cell phone, talking on a hands-free cell phone, and while intoxicated to the 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level, 40 participants followed a simulated pace car that braked intermittently. Researchers found that the drivers on cell phones drove more slowly, braked more slowly and were more likely to crash. In fact, the three participants who collided into the pace car were chatting away. None of the drunken drivers crashed. "This study does not mean people should start driving drunk," said co-author Frank Drews. "It means that driving while talking on a cell phone is as bad as or maybe worse than driving drunk, which is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated by society." Preliminary results from the study were announced three years ago. http://www.Cellphonelies.com

Do You Know The Dangers of Drunk Driving?

00:50
www.hupy.com Drunk driving is extremely dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Drunk drivers kill more than 10,000 people every year on the roads. That equals nearly one person killed every 30 minutes by a drunk driver. Driving with a blood alcohol content – BAC -- of .08 or higher is illegal. When a driver’s BAC is .08 or higher, their balance, speech, vision, reaction time and hearing all become impaired. After drinking alcohol, a driver’s concentration, memory and ability to process information are all negatively affected, making them extremely dangerous on the road. Avoid becoming a statistic. If you’ve been drinking, don’t drive. Get a ride home. Call a cab. Use a ride-share service. Don’t let drunk friends drive. Help keep everyone on the road safe.

Why Dehydrated Driving May Be Just as Dangerous as Drunk Driving

00:37
http://www.dailyrxnews.com/dehydration-may-increase-driving-errors-men It's well-known that drinking alcohol and driving can be a deadly combination, but driving while dehydrated may be just as dangerous. A new study from the UK found that men who had not had enough water to drink may make as many mistakes on the road as those who are under the influence of alcohol. "The results...suggest that mild [dehydration], induced through a short-term period of fluid restriction, produced a significant increase in minor driving errors during a prolonged, monotonous drive, compared to that observed while performing the same task in a hydrated condition," wrote lead study author Phillip Watson, PhD, an exercise physiologist at Loughborough University in England, and colleagues.
