N. Korean patrol boat crosses inter-Korean sea border in Yellow Sea

01:36
미사일 발사 하루만에 北경비정 NLL 침범 South Korea's defense ministry said on Monday that the North Korean patrol boat ignored several warning messages from the Navy before violating the Northern Limit Line. Soon after... five warning shots were fired, and the patrol boat retreated across the border. The vessel spent around 20 minutes on South Korean territory. (Korean) " At 6:55am one North Korean patrol boat crossed the NLL and ignored our warning broadcasts. We shot off warning shots and then it retreated." The ministry added that the nation's military remains on high alert after Pyongyang's long-range missile launch,… or what the North calls an Earth observation satellite. South Korea's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff… Lee Sun-jin…. on Sunday said there is a high possibility Pyongyang could conduct an unexpected tactical provocation and ordered the military to maintain combat readiness. The North's patrol boats have often trespassed into South Korean waters on the NLL as the communist regime refuses to recognize the NLL… and demand the line be moved further south. The NLL was drawn unilaterally by the UN Command when the three year Korean war entered a cease-fire in 1953. The two Korea's have engaged in past conflicts near the maritime border in 1999, 2002, and 2009. Kim Hyun-bin, Arirang News. STORYLINE: Hundreds of sailors and family members, some weeping, bowed in tribute on Monday during a memorial service for four South Korean sailors killed in a sea skirmish with a North Korean patrol boat. Draped with South Korean flags, the coffins of the men were carried into a gymnasium at a military hospital in southern Seoul. North Korea has refused South Korean demands for an apology for the incident that happened on Saturday, saying the maritime border where the clash took place was illegal and should be abolished. The South Korean military said North Korea suffered about 30 casualties in the fight, though independent confirmation was not possible. The situation on the western sea border was calm on Monday. At the memorial service, a distraught Park Kong-sun, the mother of slain Sergeant Hwang Do-hyun, knelt on the floor and pounded it with her hands. The sea battle broke out after two North Korean patrol vessels accompanying fishing boats crossed the sea border. South Korean officials said one of the North Korean vessels opened fire after ignoring warnings to retreat. North Korea, however, accused Southern boats of provoking the battle by entering communist territory. The dispute centres on the Northern Limit Line, a maritime border that was drawn up by the US led United Nations Command to avert possible clashes after the armistice that ended the 1950-53 Korean War. North Korea never accepted the line, and Southern officials say communist boats have repeatedly violated the border over the years. The United States, which keeps 37-thousand troops in South Korea, has expressed support for Seoul. In 1999, a series of border violations by North Korean ships touched off the first naval clash between the two Koreas since the Korean War. One North Korean warship sank and about 30 North Korean sailors died, according to South Korea. Several South Korean sailors were wounded. Atlantic and Pacific oceans joining at a point in mid ocean but do not mix each other | Unbelievable

01:28
On the temperature, salinity, and density differences between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans in the upper kilometre. Abstract The surface of the Pacific Ocean stands about 40 cm higher than the Atlantic Ocean with respect to the 1000-decibar surface, and the North Atlantic and North Pacific stand respectively about 14 and 17 cm higher than the South Atlantic and Pacific. The North Atlantic is warmest and saltiest, the South Atlantic is coldest and densest, and the North Pacific is least dense and least salty. The extreme values in temperature and salinity of the North Atlantic are probably related to the formation of the deep water there, which carries away from the upper layer the cold water of relatively low salinity. If this water spreads into the South Atlantic at depth and is replaced with warm saline surface water from the South Atlantic via the South Equatorial Current and the Gulf Stream, then the South Atlantic should be substantially cooler and less salty. The difference in density and sea level of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans may stem from the difference in latitude of the southern tips of America, Africa, and Australia, and the constriction of the west wind drift at Drake Strait. Only the densest surface waters of the Pacific pass through to the Atlantic, while lighter waters from lower latitudes of the South Atlantic pass eastward south of Africa. Further, the constriction of the flow by Drake Strait may result in a higher sea level on the Pacific side through the effect of Windstau (Montgomery, 1938). The density difference between the southern and northern oceans may be partly a consequence of the west wind drift around Antarctica. This is the greatest current of all oceans. Its flow is approximately geostrophically balanced and the surface slopes down to the south. The northern west wind drifts are not so strong, are at lower latitudes, and the high latitude flow is westward with slope upward to the north. These differences are not confined to the upper thousand metres. The average density difference between the Atlantic and the Pacific from the surface to the bottom is about 17 × 10−5 g/cm3. Referred to some deep surface such as 4000 decibars, the Pacific stands about 68 cm higher than the Atlantic.

HighTensions in the South China Sea, and a US Ally There Has Already Drawn 'Red Lines' With China

10:05
Amid a simmering trade war, the US and Chinese militaries have exchanged tit-for-tat measures with each other in recent days in and above the South China Sea. Over the weekend, a US Navy destroyer sailed close to Chinese-occupied territory in the area, a freedom-of-navigation exercise meant in part to contest Beijing’s expansive claims. During that exercise, a Chinese destroyer approached the US ship – reportedly as close as 45 feet – in what Navy officials called an “unsafe and unprofessional maneuver.” “The tension is escalating, and that could prove to be dangerous to both sides,” a senior US official told Reuters on Sunday, after China canceled a meeting between its officials and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis – the second senior-level meeting called off in a week.

Area 51 tour bus accidentally crosses the border into the base and gets an unfriendly welcome

05:42
LAS VEGAS -- A tour bus carrying visitors to the edge of the top secret Area 51 military base has done something that many people have only fantasized about doing. It crossed the line and entered the base. The driver and his four passengers learned a quick lesson about how serious Area 51 is about its boundary and its security. And the entire incident was captured on video. In the 25 years since I-Team reports first put the once unknown base on the map, tens of thousands of curious people have trekked out to take a peek. A few strayed over the line, on purpose, and were quickly scooped up. As far as we know, this is the first intrusion caught entirely on video and it nearly caused the tours to be shut down. Area 51's years in obscurity ended in 1989 when news reports about classified projects at the Nevada base set off a stampede of UFO seekers, aviation watchers, and media. The base is still a favored location for classified military projects, so security is justifiably tight. Motion detectors, high-tech cameras, the ominous cammo dudes and warning signs, which declare deadly force is authorized. The signs themselves have become photo ops, the money shot for guided outings like those operated for 15 years by Adventure Photo Tours. "Some of them are just curious. They don't know what it's about. Others believe they have been abducted. Other people believe they are aliens and they want to go back out there to hopefully get back home. We get all kinds of people," Adventure Photo Tours co-owner Donna Tryon said. Tryon says the typical tour includes stops at main shrines of Area 51 lore: the ET highway sign, the Little A'le'inn, and the holy of holies, the very edge of the base itself. But there is one thing the tour most certainly does not include. "Our guys make it a point to tell the passengers that, you know, you can't go over that line, and if you step over that line, you're on your own," Tryon said. But on May 28, it happened to driver Denis Ryan and his four passengers, all of it recorded, inside and out. The video shows Ryan and group having a good time, zipping toward the edge of 51. At precisely the wrong moment, one of the tourists asked Ryan a question about sports books. It was just enough of a distraction that he blew right past the warning signs, and kept on going. After 45 seconds or so, Ryan started looking around, wondering where the cammo dudes were. Less than two minutes after crossing the boundary, the passengers inform Ryan that a white truck is right on their tail. "A gentleman in full military garb gets out. The one on the passenger side, he had a fully automatic rifle," Ryan said. Ryan says the military men told him he had crossed the line and was trespassing on a military installation. Inside the vehicle, the tourists, a couple from the UK and a mother and son from the East Coast, thought it was all part of the tour, actors playing their part. "They said they would let the company know, 'you took us the extra mile.' They thought it was part of the whole process," Ryan said. They soon learned it was no act. "I apologize for this. Those are the Men in Black," Ryan told his tour. After Lincoln County deputies arrived, the driver and passengers were pulled out, cited for trespassing, and given court dates. The projected fine: $650 apiece and a misdemeanor conviction. Co-owner Will Tryon contacted Lincoln County District Attorney Dan Hogue and tried to get the out of state passengers off the hook. "We were afraid they would issue a bench warrant for these people, turn good tourists into criminals," Will Tryon said. But Hogue wasn't budging. He suspected it was done on purpose. The company decided that if the citations stuck, they would close down the tours to 51, which would be a blow to the fragile rural economy. What the DA didn't know until the I-Team contacted him is that the incident was on video. One look at video, and the expressions on these faces, and the DA knew it wasn't intentional. The driver has to pay but the passengers don't. Driver Denis Ryan is now barred for at least two years. Lincoln County has an arrangement with Area 51. It handles all trespassing cases. The DA told the I-Team that while tourism dollars are important to the county, so is the base, which generates a lot of tax revenue. After the I-Team told him about the video, the DA agreed to drop the charges against the passengers, but on one condition: that no video recorded by the van's forward camera be made public. That camera recorded cammo dudes coming from the other direction. WATCH IN HD!! SEND YOUR UFO SIGHTINGS AND VIDEOS IN A MESSAGE TO OUR YOUTUBE OR FACEBOOK PAGE! United Airlines "Sea Orchestra" Commercial

01:02
"Sea Orchestra" is a lively and visually rich commercial that introduces United's new international first and business class cabins. In it, a United airplane crosses the ocean and is serenaded by an orchestra of animated sea creatures that are playing a unique version of Rhapsody in Blue using tubas, violins, French horns and the Indonesian gamelan. The score was created by Shy the Sun, a South Africa-based directing team, which used hand-drawn textures, computer animation characters and photographs of water, reefs and skies.

S. Korea fires warning shots at N. Korean patrol boat

軍, 서해 NLL 침범 北 어선단속정에 경고

01:44
South Korea has fired warning shots at a North Korean patrol boat that strayed into South Korean waters. The Pyongyang has called the firing a military provocation. Connie Kim looks into whether the incident could shakeup inter-Korean ties, which already hangs by a thread. The South Korean Navy fired five machine gun rounds at a North Korean patrol boat that crossed the Northern Limit Line, the de facto maritime border between the two Koreas. Seoul′s military authorities said Sunday the vessel crossed the Western sea border at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday by some eight hundred meters. The crossing was made just northeast of South Korea′s Yeonpyeong-do Island, the site of a deadly artillery attack by the North in 2010. The North Korean vessel was reportedly cracking down on Chinese fishing boats and strayed into South Korean waters. The boat retreated about eight minutes after the shots were fired. No skirmishes were reported during the process. North Korea does not acknowledge the Northern Limit Line, which was drawn in 1953 at the end of the Korean War. The regime wants the border drawn farther south to divide the waters equally between the two Koreas. The North′s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea called the firing a military provocation. The organization′s spokesman said Sunday the vessel was conducting a routine operation when the ″belligerent South″ carried out a provocation against the boat. He warned the incident could spark military confrontation and refuel tensions on the peninsula. The incident took place as the second round of reunions for war-separated families is being held, raising concerns it could disrupt the conciliatory mood created by the two Koreas. Media reports on warm ‘blob’ in Pacific Ocean Radioactive!

05:12
Media outlets are widely reporting on two recent studies in the journal Geophysical Research Letters describing a giant "blob" of warm water that may be responsible for recent ecological and weather anomalies across the United States -- from California's drought to the East Coast's severe winter to the thousands of dying sea lions washing up along the West Coast. The "blob" -- more precisely, the "warm anomaly" -- is a patch of ocean water just off the coast of the Pacific Northwest that is about 1,000 miles across, 300 feet deep, and 3 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than usual. It received its nickname from Nick Bond of Washington State University, lead author of one of the new studies. Do the new studies actually explain what the media are claiming? Are there potential explanations that are being ignored? What did the studies find? Already, researchers have linked the blob to many of this past year's alarming ecological occurrences. Warmer water is less rich in nutrients, which scientists say has caused effects including a crash in the population of copepods (tiny animals that form the base of the ocean's food web) and the starvation of sea lion pups, causing thousands of the animals to strand themselves onshore. The warm water has also caused tropical fish to appear near Seattle. The new study by Bond and colleagues also links the blob to the recent weather disturbances. The researchers claim that the blob actually has an atmospheric cause: an unseasonal ridge of high-pressure air hovering above it. This high-pressure air (instead of the low-pressure air typical for the winter) has been associated with the ocean becoming unseasonably calm and warm, removing a major source of rain for the West Coast and contributing to California's drought and the West Coast's warmer-than-usual winter, according to the researchers. The second study traced the blob to another patch of unseasonably warm water, this one in the Tropics near the intersection of the Equator and the International Date Line. This warm water has been heating up the air above it, directly leading to the unseasonably warm patch of air that is heating the waters off the U.S. coast. "It's like throwing a rock into a pond," researcher Dennis Hartmann said. "The wave eventually makes its way to the other side." This same wave of warm air actually crosses the entire North American continent, the researchers found, eventually causing a wet, low-pressure system over the central and eastern United States. This system, called a "North Pacific Mode," contributed to this year's remarkably cold and snowy winter, the researchers claim. Although North Pacific Modes have been observed before, this past year's was more extreme and longer lasting than has been seen before. Potential Fukushima link not being investigated According to media reports, no one knows what has caused the unusually warm Tropical waters responsible for all of these climate and ecological effects. But some have asked whether radioactive material emitted into the ocean by the Fukushima disaster might not be partially responsible. In 2011, multiple meltdowns at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant caused a flood of radioactive material to enter the Pacific Ocean. Since then, some observers have drawn attention to a trend of a rapidly warming Pacific Ocean. The question has been raised as to whether this could be caused by heated groundwater and radioactive waste from the Fukushima plant flowing into the Pacific, thereby slowly raising ocean temperatures over the past few years. Since this radioactive material has been continuously flowing from the plant over the past four years, this mass could have drifted out to sea and could still be heating water as a side effect of its ongoing radioactive decay.

Turbulent Sea & Cautious Train On India's 1st Sea Bridge

WDP3A 56723 Madurai Rameswaram Passenger carefully cruises the mother of all bridges - Pamban. Train says pom. Curious pilot looks out. Speed limit - 15 km/hr. WDP3A GOC 15533 Pamban bridge is listed in the Top 10 Most Dangerous Railroads in the world - http://www.mostinterestingfacts.com/transportation/top-10-most-dangerous-railroads-in-the-world.html After the 1964 cyclone, the girders of Pamban bridge were replaced and an anemometer was installed. When the wind speed crosses 55 km per hour, signals on the bridge send out an automatic warning to approaching trains. This bridge was rebuilt in 1965 after the original bridge collapsed during the "Tsunami" of December 1964. It is with the reconstruction of the Pamban Bridge that Mr. E Sreedharan of Delhi Metro made his initial mark. The Pamban bridge is a type of cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. It refers to both the road bridge and the cantilever railway bridge, though primarily it means the latter. It was India's first sea bridge. It is the second longest sea bridge in India (after Bandra Worli Sea Link) at a length of about 2.3 km. Until 1911 people crossed by boat to visit an ancient Ram temple at Rameswaram. Jeez boat !!! The railway bridge is 6,776 ft (2,065 m) and was opened for traffic in 1914. The railroad bridge is a still functioning double leaf bascule bridge section that can be raised to let ships pass under the bridge. The railway bridge historically carried meter gauge trains on it, but Indian Railways upgraded the bridge to carry broad gauge trains in a project that finished Aug. 12, 2007. Until recently, the two leaves of the bridge were opened manually using levers by workers. About 10 ships, cargo carriers, coast guard ships, fishing vessels and oil tankers, pass through the bridge every month. The bridge is located at the "world's second highly corrosive environment", next to Miami, US, making the construction a challenging job. The location is also a cyclone-prone high wind velocity zone. It sits on an artificial sandstone reef. Nearly 5,000 tonnes of cement, 18,000 cubic feet of crushed metal stone, 2,600 tonnes of steel and 80,000 cubic feet of boulders were used to build it. The bridge has 145 fixed spans, and one-navigation span (a total of 225 feet) that opens for ships. The drawbridge at the center comprises two sections of the navigation span, called the Scherzer span. Each weighs 415 tonnes. It is a spectacular sight when drawn up to let ships through. A woman had a miraculous escape after she fell off a moving train into the sea from the Pamban bridge. South China Sea: Source of power projection

South China Sea: Source of power projection SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarfraz Ahmed Rana THE Asia-Pacific security order has been reshaped in recent times by the growing rivalry between the United States and China including the other coastal states involved against the backdrop of escalating tension in the South China Sea. The area became a flashpoint and most debated after the Korean conflict as political tension grew over the territorial sovereignty of the South China Seas Islands. A strategic pathway contains the area of about 3.5 million square kilometres geographically located at the heart of the Pacific Ocean that connects South China Seas with the Indian Ocean, largely considered being the lifeline of the world commerce and commercial activities. The worth of $5 trillion international commerce crosses over the South China Sea every year accentuates the significance of the Seas. A narrative of contest between the two powers over the South China Sea conflict to which China claims the indisputable sovereignty since ancient times have not merely limited scope to the global trade activity but it goes beyond to have the multiple strategic aspects as possesses conceivably one of the world’s largest untapped oil and gas reservoirs, rich in other marine resources including the sizeable amount of fisheries and seafood, most importantly the Freedom of Navigation Operations and Over Flight remains the high priority for the United States and its allies. Chinese ambitious plans of building artificial islands which began to implement in 2016 on the large swathes of South China Sea within the Chinese drawn nine-dash line are almost up and running for Chinese naval power projection and advanced new military installations demonstrates Beijing’s inclination to adopt increasingly modern naval capabilities. In addition to, Chinese first ever military base in Djibouti gives rise to US suspicion of China on the path of becoming ‘peer competitor’, whi... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starship Exeter: The Savage Empire (2002)

On a mission of peace, the Starship Exeter is drawn into a battle of political intrigue and espionage. Who will survive? Can even Captain Garrovick's own crew be trusted? Shot in the 1990s and completed in late 2002 this was arguably the first "viral" Trek fanfilm, downloads of which famously overloaded the mac.com servers in that pre-YouTube era. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starship_Exeter

ACU 1056 Audiobook Part 1 of 2. Thunder Below!

01:26:55
Show 1056 Audiobook Part 1 of 2. Thunder Below!: The USS Barb Revolutionizes Submarine Warfare in World War II by Eugene B. Fluckey This was a great read. I have included a few stories from this book in these two shows. You can purchase and download the audiobook on audible or cd's from amazon. Overview of book- The thunderous roar of exploding depth charges was a familiar and comforting sound to the crew members of the USS Barb, who frequently found themselves somewhere between enemy fire and Davy Jones's locker. Under the leadership of her fearless skipper, Captain Gene Fluckey, the Barb sank the greatest tonnage of any American sub in World War II. At the same time, the Barb did far more than merely sink ships - she changed forever the way submarines stalk and kill their prey. This is a gripping adventure chock-full of "you-are-there" moments. Fluckey has drawn on logs, reports, letters, interviews, and a recently discovered illegal diary kept by one of his torpedomen. And in a fascinating twist, he uses archival documents from the Japanese Navy to give its version of events. The unique story of the Barb begins with its men, who had the confidence to become unbeatable. Each team helped develop innovative ideas, new tactics, and new strategies. All strove for personal excellence, and success became contagious. Instead of lying in wait under the waves, the USS Barb pursued enemy ships on the surface, attacking in the swift and precise style of torpedo boats. She was the first sub to use rocket missiles and to creep up on enemy convoys at night, joining the flank escort line from astern, darting in and out as she sank ships up the column. Surface-cruising, diving only to escape, "Luckey Fluckey" relentlessly patrolled the Pacific, driving his boat and crew to their limits. There can be no greater contrast to modern warfare's long-distance, video-game style of battle than the exploits of the captain and crew of the USS Barb, where the sub, out of ammunition, actually rammed an enemy ship until it sank. Thunder Below! is a first-rate, true-life, inspirational story of the courage and heroism of ordinary men under fire. Editorial Reviews Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly The USS Barb was the Navy's most successful submarine in WW II. Operating mainly in the South China Sea, the Formosa Strait and the forever mysterious Sea of Okhotsk, the Barb sank at least 29 Japanese ships and climaxed its final patrol with an audacious commando raid on land during which the crew destroyed a 16-car train. This was the sole U.S. military landing on Japanese soil during the war. Drawing on ship's logs, letters, interviews, diaries and his own memory, Fluckey, a retired rear admiral, reconstructs every attack by and against the sub from its eighth through its 12th and last patrol. This was the 15-month period when he served as the Barb's skipper, winning the Medal of Honor and four Navy Crosses for his daring exploits. Fluckey is a fine writer with a lively, colorful style. His book is packed with action and suspense and is rich in details about the day-today operation of a submarine in combat. Photos. Military Book Club main selection. (Oct.) Ben-Hur (3/10) Movie CLIP - The Chariot Race (1959) HD

Ben-Hur movie clips: http://j.mp/1e6XcoX BUY THE MOVIE: http://j.mp/1e6X9JI Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston) wins the race while Messala (Stephen Boyd) is left bleeding in the dust. FILM DESCRIPTION: This 1959 version of Lew Wallace's best-selling novel, which had already seen screen versions in 1907 and 1926, went on to win 11 Academy Awards. Adapted by Karl Tunberg and a raft of uncredited writers including Gore Vidal and Maxwell Anderson, the film once more recounts the tale of Jewish prince Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston), who lives in Judea with his family during the time that Jesus Christ was becoming known for his "radical" teachings. Ben-Hur's childhood friend Messala (Stephen Boyd) is now an ambitious Roman tribune; when Ben-Hur refuses to help Messala round up local dissidents on behalf of the emperor, Messala pounces on the first opportunity to exact revenge on his onetime friend. Tried on a trumped-up charge of attempting to kill the provincial governor (whose head was accidentally hit by a falling tile), Ben-Hur is condemned to the Roman galleys, while his mother (Martha Scott) and sister (Cathy O'Donnell) are imprisoned. But during a sea battle, Ben-Hur saves the life of commander Quintus Arrius (Jack Hawkins), who, in gratitude, adopts Ben-Hur as his son and gives him full control over his stable of racing horses. Ben-Hur never gives up trying to find his family or exact revenge on Messala. At crucial junctures in his life, he also crosses the path of Jesus, and each time he benefits from it. The highlight of the film's 212 minutes is its now-legendary chariot race, staged largely by stunt expert Yakima Canutt. Ben-Hur's Oscar haul included Best Picture, Best Director for the legendary William Wyler, Best Actor for Heston, and Best Supporting Actor for Welsh actor Hugh Griffith as an Arab sheik. ALCO Snakes Onto Pamban Sea Bridge Carefully

ERS WDM3A 17968 handles with care, the Rameshwaram Trichy passenger, snakes onto the mother of all bridges - Pamban. The portion covering other side, with 1964 storm story, in which an entire train perished killing all on board - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POrsEgW0JbU Be careful, I don't know swimming. The Ganges, Brahmaputra, Krishna, Kaveri and so on may be mighty rivers, but all of them lose their identities after they merge in the final destination - Mother Ocean, who welcomes all her children, so humbly with open arms. Did you ever notice one thing? The mighty Ocean which can swallow the entire land mass of this planet in seconds, always washes our feet lovingly without any arrogance. Pamban Bridge Playlist - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLED4CD1E23BCE98B8 Pamban bridge is listed in the Top 10 Most Dangerous Railroads in the world - http://www.mostinterestingfacts.com/transportation/top-10-most-dangerous-railroads-in-the-world.html After the 1964 cyclone, the girders of Pamban bridge were replaced and an anemometer was installed. A woman had a miraculous escape after she fell off a moving train into the sea from the Pamban bridge. She opened the compartment door mistaking it for the toilet and fell into the sea - http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/61-yr-old-woman-falls-from-train-into-sea-survives/articleshow/6576572.cms The Pamban bridge is a type of cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India.

The Astronomical Apocrypha 07 - Seleukid Narrative Let's Play - Total War: Rome 2 - Divide et Impera

Total War: Rome 2 with Divide et Impera 1.1e overhaul mod Submods: DeI – Ultra Fast Battles, R2:TW GEMFX Graphic Enhancement Mod, Better Horses Elephants and Dogs HQ Texture v2 Grand Campaign Normal Difficulty (DeI) Episode 7: Stabbing Westward With the once proud Ptolemy Philadelphos now falling and the stench of his corpse mingling with the camel offal, Antiochos II reluctantly turns his gaze from Egypt to the cringing Nabataens and their upstart Ma’in allies to the Southeast, blazing a trail of conquest into Arabia to unite the province of Nabataea. Diogenes, the desert veteran, crosses the Red Sea with the Hammers of Hephaestos, and together with Antiochos and the Thunderbolts of Zeus, they form a two-pronged invasion of Upper Egypt, which has been left essentially undefended by the Ptolemies. With his wound little more than old ache and an upleasant memory, Antiochos Soter reads the stars as a good omen for conquest and launches his own invasion against the Thracians, crossing the Hellespont to secure territory on the far shore of the Black Sea, while Antigonos Gonatas watches with growing concern the ambition of his Seleukid rivals. 15 BIZARRE Archeological Discoveries

07:42
From new looks at the dead sea scrolls to sunken treasure and ancient artifacts, these are 15 totally BIZARRE archaeological discoveries. Learn about the BIGGEST of everything Monday, Wednesday, and Friday just subscribe! # 9 Pyramid within a Pyramid Archaeologists discovered something remarkable inside of the El Castillo pyramid at Chichen Itza in Mexico. It is not actually one pyramid but a pyramid within a pyramid. The inside pyramid was created approximately 100 years before the pyramid constructed around it. Scientists used an electrical resistivity survey to see what lied underneath the surface of the outside pyramid. Some say the newer pyramid was built to correct errors in the construction and architecture of the first one. # 8 Virtually Unwrapped Dead Sea Scrolls The original and infamous Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered between 1947 and 1956 and this one, found at the site of En Gedi was found in 1970. However, it was charred and fragile, making it impossible to actually physically unfurl. However, in 2016 a new CT scan has enabled us to virtually unfurl this scroll and revealed that it was part of the Book of Leviticus first written around 1,700 years ago. # 7 Treasure on Sunken Spanish Galleon The treasure found in the Sunken Spanish Galleon could be the most valuable shipwreck in Colombia that may have the biggest treasure found in a sunken ship of all time. It has an estimated value of around 1 billion dollars US. It once carried a hoard of gold, silver, and gems from South American colonies being ferried to Europe when a huge storm sunk the ship. Now, ownership of the treasure is being disputed between Colombia, the U.S., and Spain. # 6 Egypt’s Youngest Mummies An Egyptian coffin has been sitting in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, England has been sitting there for years, but recent technological discoveries have allowed us to unveil something new about the old artifact. For years, experts thought the coffin was filled with the entrails and organs of a mummy, but a new CT scan has revealed it actually contains the youngest mummy specimen ever discovered. It dates back more than 2,500 years and contains a 16-18 week old fetus not the intestines of an adult corpse. # 5 Operation Pandora A police operation that involves the entirety of Europe has uncovered more than 3,500 pieces of stolen artwork and archaeological artifacts from criminal gangs that stole the pieces forcibly. These include things like a marble tombstone from the Ottoman Empire, 400 coins from throughout history, and a Byzantine era image of Saint George. The operation was known as Operation Pandora and involved the arrest of 75 people and investigations of some 48,000 individuals. # 4 Ancient Egyptian Boat Drawings More than 120 carvings of boats were discovered in a structure at Abydos, Egypt - a site that dates back more than 3,800 years. The structure is covered in the carvings, with some reaching nearly 5 feet or 1.5 meters in length. Every drawing depicts detailed ships complete with masts, sails, deckhouses, oars, and rowers. The structure also contained wooden planks from what was likely a large boat that actually stood inside the site, as well. # 3 Oldest Rock art in North America Near the western side of Nevada’s Winnemucca dry lake, there are limestone boulders that are marked with deep carvings that date back as far as 14,800 years ago. These petroglyphs have been dated to have been drawn between 10,500 years ago and the oldest being nearly 15,000 years ago. They have geometric motifs, symbols, and abstract art that we cannot immediately read. Many people still have no idea what they could mean. # 2 Ceremonial Bobcat Burial For decades after their excavation from a Hopewell-era burial mound, the bones of a bobcat laid in a storage unit mislabeled “puppy burial”. It turns out, the young bobcat was buried around 2,000 years ago in the largest of 14 Hopewell era mounds near the Illinois River, which is about 50 miles or 80 kilometers north of St. Louis. It was interred alongside the remains of 22 people were buried in a ring around a central tomb with remains of an infant. The Bobcat was buried like a human, left with a necklace that was originally thought to be only for humans to wear. This has forced archaeologists to question human relationships to animals throughout history.

Amateur home movie. On a sea swept promenade, waves are crashing and spraying seawater in the air. Looking down at breaking sea. Railings on front. Pier further out to sea.1930's Quite impressive amounts of water breaking over front, but amateur cameraman moves camera quite a lot. Man in suit and with cigarette in mouth opens back-hinged front door of his motor car, gets in, winds window down and puts car into gear. He moves off. Reverse point of view from a car along a high street showing shops. Woman crosses road with pram after car has passed by. Sea front. Ship in distance. Windmill next to sea. Very gentlest sea water lapping on sandy beach. Pier with ship passing. Swings on beach. Suburban promenade. Boats drawn up on beach. Church near sea. Windmill. The railings of the front. Looking up at windmill.
The Philippines expressed "serious concern" the South China Sea

The Philippines expressed "serious concern" the South China Sea, MANILA - The Philippines will react if its military personnel in the South China Sea are disrupted. It was said by a high-ranking Philippine security official This statement dismisses criticism that Manila has been soft on China and allowed it to militarize in the South China Sea. President Rodrigo Duterte has drawn criticism in recent weeks for not casting a protest against Beijing following news that China has installed a missile system on artificial islands in the busy waters, including within the Manila Exclusive Economic Zone. Duterte is different from his predecessor, enjoying good relations with Beijing and wanting his investment. Duterte often even said he was not able to compete with a far superior Chinese. Philippine National Security Adviser, Hermogenes Esperon, said the Philippines will always try to hold talks to ease the issue. But it can not be ruled out as a last resort if its military is harmed then we will react. "That night, the president said if his troops were harmed, that could be the boundary," Esperon told reporters as quoted by Reuters on Wednesday (30/05/2018). The statement seemed to confirm the comments of Foreign Minister Alan Peter Cayetano to members of the foreign service where Duterte had told China that he would not allow unauthorized construction in Scarborough or resource extraction in areas where the Philippines has sovereign rights. China claims most of the South China Sea, where goods worth about USD 3 trillion pass through it every year. Beijing has made great progress in fortifying man-made islands in recent years, which it says has the right to self-defense. Last week, the Philippines expressed "serious concern" over the presence of China's strategic bombers in the still-talking waters but silenced on the installation of a missile system. ACU 1057 Audiobook Part 2 of 2. Thunder Below!

01:25:06
Show 1057 Audiobook Part 2 of 2. (Oct.) It is the second longest sea bridge in India (after Bandra Worli Sea Link) at a length of about 2.3 km.

Narrowboats "Thomas Telford" and "Sally" crossing Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, 30.10.09. High angle view.

Another attempt with the pole-mounted Nikon D90. Cruise boat "Thomas Telford" from Llangollen crosses with Aubrey at the helm and Helen and Phil as cabin crew, followed by Peter and Bev on "Sally". The towpath here is about 90 feet above the fields, increasing to nearly 127 feet over the bed of the river Dee. This view shows just why they call it "The Stream in the Sky", and it probably gives the best impression of the approach embankment from Fron, one of the biggest earthworks in Britain before the motorways were built. Charlie the dog just had to get in on the act, and a young lady in a spectacularly colourful hat illuminates the opening seconds! The noise is from tree trimming and shredding along the riverbank. Please excuse the dive into the towpath at the end; my improvised remote switch didn't work, and Windows Movie Maker is still on the blink! The "TT" operates daily between Llangollen Wharf (tel. 01978 860702) and Froncysyllte from the start of the Easter holidays to the end of October or, as this year, the first day of November. She cruises through over five miles of glorious scenery, making one two-hour trip each way with a bus connection included for the outward or homeward journey, whichever you choose to take. A commentary and friendly buffet service are provided. There are a few seasonal-themed "mince pie" cruises in December, too. Also from the Wharf, during the summer season horse drawn boats operate upstream, where power boats cannot go. See other clips on this channel for Tog, Taff, Stanley and Geordie at work! LYRICS: Take me please I beg you, across the emerald sea, I'm nearly dead from waiting for your hand to reach for me, The day is near upon us, turning a bluish-grey, The air is getting warmer & it's time we hauled away, Turn for home, will ye go lassie go? We've done all we can, so let’s sail away from the things of man now, go.. Time is near upon us, I long to see the day, When all is put to balance and the evil cast away, Do you hear me trying to reach you with every breath I take? I call you down from the mountain top, will ya cometo break me, Come to take me.. Home.. Oh take me please I beg you, across that crimson lake, The blood of ancient heroes foaming in our wake, The broken savage coast ahead will recognise her own, Rocks will march into the sea & guard our passage home..
