ATTENTION!! I DO NOT CLAIM TO OWN ANY OF THE MUSIC OR PHOTO'S SEEN AND PLAYED ON THESE VIDEOS. THEY ARE PROPERTY OF THE PEOPLE THAT MADE THEM. Lyrics: The drunk kids, the catholics They're all about the same They're waiting for something Hoping to be saved Well I have been happy the past couple days Just thinking of the women who've taken your place And every night I think I certaintly won't ever sleep sober or alone And then suddenly it occurs to me I've slept alone before you And so I pour myself the stiffest drink my stomach can stand And convince myself to lay back down again I'm gonna lay back down, I'm gonna lay back down again The drunk kids, the catholics They're all about the same They're waiting for something Hoping to be saved The drunk kids, the catholics They're all about the same They're waiting for something Hoping to be saved The drunk kids, the catholics They're all about the same They're waiting for something Hoping to be saved They crawl from the oceans To paint in the caves But I'm working all weekend I need to get paid They crawl from the oceans To paint in the caves But I'm working all weekend I need to get paid They crawl from the oceans To paint in the caves But I'm working all weekend I need to get paid They crawl from the oceans To paint in the caves But I'm working all weekend I need to get paid

Bright Eyes - Lover I don't have to Love Lyrics

04:02
One of my favorite Bright Eyes song. Please check out my other videos ^^ Lyrics - I picked you out of a crowd and talked to you I said I liked your shoes You said, "Thanks, can I follow you?" So it's up the stairs and out of view No prying eyes I poured some wine I asked your name, you asked the time Now it's two o'clock The club is closed We're up the block Your hands on me; Pressing hard against your jeans Your tongue in my mouth, trying to keep the words from coming out You didn't care to know who else may have been you before I want a lover I don't have to love I want a girl who's too sad to give a fuck Where's the kid with the chemicals? I thought he said to meet him here but I'm not sure I've got the money if you've got the time You said it feels good I said, "I'll give it a try." Then my mind went dark We both forgot where your car was parked Let's just take the train I'll meet up with the band in the morning Bad actors with bad habits Some sad singers they just play tragic And the phone's ringing and the van's leaving Let's just keep touching; let's just keep... keep singing... I want a lover I don't have to love I want a boy who's so drunk he doesn't talk Where's the kid with the chemicals? I've got a hunger and I can't seem to get full I need some meaning I can memorize The kind I have always seems to slip my mind But you, but you... You write such pretty words But life's no storybook Love's an excuse to get hurt And to hurt. Do you like to hurt? I do, I do Then hurt me... [x10]

Interesting ("Drunk Kid Catholic" - Bright Eyes music video) (08/2005)

03:12
I bicycled around Fresno for a couple days. I met a homeless guy who told me he was Eric Clapton and that I should come into an alleyway with him. Later I googled Eric Clapton for the first time: no resemblance. I swear that house with the roof reindeer still has those up after all these years. I was making a lot of this type of video at the time.

Bright Eyes Poison Oak

04:40
you all loved Lua so i thought id put another one out there :) enjoy Poison oak, some boyhood bravery When the telephone was a tin can on a string And I fell asleep with you still talking to me You said you weren't afraid to die In polaroids you were dressed in women's clothes Were you made ashamed, why'd you lock them in a drawer? Well, I don't think that I ever loved you more Than when you turned away, when you slammed the door When you stole the car and drove towards Mexico And you wrote bad checks just to fill your arm I was young enough, I still believed in war Well let the poets cry themselves to sleep And all their tearful words will turn back into steam But me, I'm a single cell on the serpent's tongue There's a muddy field where a garden was And I'm glad you got away but I'm still stuck out here My clothes are soaking wet from your brother's tears And I never thought this life was possible You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for The end of paralysis, I was a statuette Now I'm drunk as hell on a piano bench And when I press the keys it all gets reversed The sound of loneliness makes me happier

Bright Eyes - Napoleon's Hat Lyrics

05:41
This song is very profound and beautiful. The stories of the characters are so brilliant and insightful. A great Bright Eyes song. Lyrics The barons of industry put inspiration on Hitlers tongue The next century crashed hard with a loud sound like a starting gun Its race for acquisition and to make more things that glow I got a knack for dodging bullets and flying zeros So I act like I am rich, try and make it my whole look Cause poor people dont exist when times are good Mozarts foster parents put cigarettes out in his ears When he got old enough to stutter he said I dont listen but I-I-I can hear The eloquence of traffic, yeah the milk ponds sad lament Its a requiem of moments I keep living through them But wheres the monster in the closet? I cant find the hangman inside his hood I guess evil dont exist when times are good Doctor Oppenheimer winced when he felt the broken piece of his pace-maker Unbuttoned his shirt on a subway platform clutching his chest while his vision blurred He saw the bane of his creation, the destroyer of the world Yeah, truth can leap to solace or a life long bender Its like wading through a wasteland where a town you love once stood You just cry each time you think of when times were good Napoleons tailor dressed him in a giant hat and funny platform shoes Saying anyone can be a hero you just got to force people to look up to you So when youre talking on a hotline to a suicidal soul Dont let your voice sound like hot coffee more like a scented pillow And strive for understanding over being understood Just dont let yourself forget when the times get good When the times get good [repeat]

Bright Eyes - I will be grateful for this day - 02 (lyrics in the description)

04:20
ATTENTION!! I DO NOT CLAIM TO OWN ANY OF THE MUSIC OR PHOTO'S SEEN AND PLAYED ON THESE VIDEOS. THEY ARE PROPERTY OF THE PEOPLE THAT MADE THEM. Lyrics: I had girl I knew she grew became a woman now I think that she teaches at one of the schools downtown, we used to roll the windows down and play the music loud smoking out in her car Lost in west Omaha, and we'd get drunk and kiss our bodies twist like shoe laces. And we never came untied; I guess you were just my type. You know that summer never stopped. I still pretend I'm there. Bands in the living room, neighbors ain't never cared. So when I sat behind the drum set. Your heartbeat's what I tried to play. With kick and snares so careless not in time. So you got ahead of me. And I guess I'm still dragging behind. I had a friend who changed his name but couldn't change himself. Never quite figured out how to do with what life had dealt. He put a needle in his arm to calm his handsome hell. who would have imagined it? Could've worked out so well. Now he's a shape that moves like echoes through my empty room. And there's a voice that speaks like someone's right behind me. I turned around and found exactly what you would expect. Clothes I left on my floor. The papers piled on my desk. But where the ink is where the cause effect what's meant by it the story is incomplete. The pictures' left unfinished. So I am writing my own ending. I'll let my pen bleed black or blue. And I will color in the meaning. It will be gold and green and true. And I'll learn to love my new discovered proof. I'll be grateful for this day. I will be grateful for each day to come.

BRIGHT EYES - WASTE OF PAINT + LYRICS

06:39
WASTE OF PAINT Lifted or the Story is in the Soul keep your ear to the ground LYRICS I have a friend, he is mostly made of pain. And he wakes up, drives to work, and then straight back home again. He once cut one of my nightmares out of paper. I thought it was beautiful, I put it on a record cover. And I tried to tell him he had a sense of color and composition so magnificent. And he said "Thank you, please but your flattery is truly not becoming me. Your eyes are poor. You're blind. You see, no beauty could have come from me. I'm a waste of breath, of space, of time." I knew a woman, she was dignified and true. And her love for her man was one of her many virtues. Until one day, she found out that he had lied and she decided the rest of her life from that point on would be a lie. But she was grateful for everything that had happened. And she was anxious for all that would come next. But then she wept. What did you expect? In that big, old house with the cars she kept. "And such is life," she often said. With one day leading to the next, you get a little closer to your death, which was fine with her. She never got upset and with all the days she may have left, she would never clean another mess or fold his shirts or look her best. She was free to waste away alone. Last night, my brother he got drunk and drove. And this cop he pulled him off to the side of the road. And he said, "Officer! Officer! You got the wrong man. No, no, I'm a student of medicine, a son of a banker, you don't understand!" The cop said, "No one got hurt, you should be thankful. And your carelessness, it is something awful. And no, I can't just let you go. And though your father's name is known, your decisions now are yours alone. You are nothing but a stepping stone on a path to debt, to loss, to shame." The last few months I have been living with this couple. Yeah, you know, the kind who buy everything in doubles. They fit together, like a puzzle. And I love their love and I am thankful that someone actually receives the prize that was promised by all those fairy tales that drugged us. And they still do me. I'm sick, lonely, no laurel tree, just green envy. Will my number come up eventually? Like Love's some kind of lottery, where you scratch and see what's underneath. It's "Sorry", just one cherry, or "Play Again." Get lucky. So I've been hanging out down by the train's depot. No, I don't ride. I just sit and watch the people there. And they remind me of wind up cars in motion. The way they spin and turn and jockey for positions. And I want to scream out that it all is nonsense. All your life's one track, can't they see it's pointless? But just then, my knees give under me. My head feels weak and suddenly it's clear to see it's not them but me, who has lost my self-identity. As I hide behind these books I read, while scribbling my poetry, like art could save a wretch like me, with some ideal ideology that no one could hope to achieve. And I am never real; it is just a sketch in me. And everything I made is trite and cheap and a waste of paint, of tape, of time. So now I park my car down by the cathedral, where the floodlights point up at the steeples. Choir practice was filling up with people. I hear the sound escaping as an echo. Sloping off the ceiling at an angle. When the voices blend they sound like angels. I hope there's some room still in the middle. But when I lift my voice up now to reach them. The range is too high, way up in heaven. So I hold my tongue, forget the song, tie my shoe start walking off. And try to just keep moving on, with my broken heart and my absent God and I have no faith but it's all I want, to be loved. And believe, in my soul. In my soul. In my soul. In my soul.

Lets Not Shit Ourselves (To Love and Be Loved) - Bright Eyes

08:36
Well, the animals laugh from the dark of the wilderness. A baby cries hard in an apartment complex, as I pass in a car buried under the influence. The city's driving me out of my mind. I've seen a child is caught in the sad trap of gravity. He falls from the lowest branch of the apple tree and lands in the grass and weeps for his dignity. Next time he will not aim so high. Yeah, next time, neither will I. Now a mother takes loans out, sends her kids off to colleges. Her family's reduced to names on a shopping list. While, a coroner kneels beneath a great, wooden crucifix. He knows there's worse things than being alone. And so I've learned to retreat at the first sign of danger. I mean, why wait around, if it's just to surrender? An ambition, I've found, can lead only to failure. I do not read the reviews. No, I am not singing for you. Well I stood dropping a coin into the pit of a well. And I would throw my whole billfold if I thought it would help. With all these wishes I make, I should buy something real, at least a telephone call home. Well, my teachers, they built this retaining wall of memory, all those multiple choices I answered so quickly. And got my grades back and forgot just as easily, but as least I got an A. And so I don't have them to blame. Well I should stop pointing fingers; reserve my judgment of all those public action figures, the cowboy presidents. So loud behind the bullhorn, so proud they can't admit when they've made a mistake. While poison ink spews from a speechwriter's pen, he knows he don't have to say it, so it, it don't bother him. "Honesty", "Accuracy" is just "Popular Opinion." And the approval rating's high, and so someone's gonna die. Well ABC, NBC, CBS: Bullshit. They give us fact or fiction? I guess an even split. And each new act of war is tonight's entertainment. We're still the pawns in their game. As they take eye for an eye until no one can see, we must stumble blindly forward, repeating history. Well, I guess we all fit into your slogan on the fast food marquee: Red blooded, White skinned oh and the Blues. Oh and the Blues, I got the Blues! That's me! That's me! Well, I awoke in relief. My sheets and tubes were all tangled weak from whiskey and pills, in a Chicago hospital. And my father was there, in a chair, by the window, staring so far away. I tried talking, just whispered, "...so sorry...so selfish..." He stopped me and said, "Child I love you regardless and there's nothing you could do that would ever change this. I'm not angry. It happens. But you just can't do it again." So now I try to keep up, I've been exchanging my currency. While a million objects pass through my periphery. Now I'm rubbing my eyes 'cause they're starting to bother me. I've been staring too long at the screen. But where was it when I first heard a sweet sound of humility? It came to my ears in the goddamn loveliest melody. How grateful I was then to be part of the mystery, to love and to be loved. Let's just hope that is enough.
