No title or intertitles. Woman emerges from a Tudor style house wearing an extravagant fur coat with white fur trim. Two other women dressed in furs join her in the grounds of the house. The first woman opens out her coat to show the shiny lining. The bottom of the coat has a feathered effect. The two other women turn and pose to show off their glamorous furs. The same three women walk in the grounds of the house wearing different coats. The coats all cross over at the front and the women clutch their sides to hold them closed. All three wear cloche hats. They walk towards the camera then stand together and chat. They turn and pose - some C/Us showing the coats and hats. A car draws up in front of the camera. A woman in a white fur coat with large fluffy fur collar gets out of the car. She is followed by a woman in another white coat with heavy embroidery and large fluffy white collar. A third woman also wears a white fur trimmed coat. Three more women in elaborate coats climb out of another car. Note: these coats look extremely decadent and posh today. Obviously super expensive furs at the time. FILM ID:870.17 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. SHOTLIST 1. Various shots catwalk 2. Mid shot protestors 3. Various shots catwalk 4. Finale 5. SOUNDBITE Julien Macdonald, Designer: " Well basically it's about sex and S&M. It is about women freeing themselves of their every day life and just being crazy for the night. I love sex and I love glamour. I sell sex and glamour. Everybody wants to go out and be glamourous and sexy. Nobody wants to leave the house in dirty old jeans or a woolly sweater. I sell this which women aspire to. I like women to wear high heels, lots of make-up, wear lots of diamonds, have your nails done, go to the hair dresser and have your hair done. I hate grunge and I hate dirty things. " 6. Various Julien Macdonald with models on catwalk LONDON FASHION: PROTESTERS MAR CATWALK TRIUMPH PeTA anti fur protesters stole the spotlight last night during Julien Macdonald 's show at London Fashion Week. Just a few minutes in to his autumn/winter 2003 collection protesters leapt on to the catwalk waving 'Fur Kills' banners at the cameras and audience. Amongst the audience was the usual plethora of celebrities that Macdonald's shows seem to attract, including Pink, Shirley Bassey, Atomic Kitten, Rachel Weisz and Joaquin Cortes. The protesters were quickly and efficiently disposed of and the show got back underway with typical Macdonald glitzy, glamorous designs lighting up the catwalk. The collection was much more tailored than previous seasons and was a wash of black and white with leather catsuits, tight fitting leather trousers and fitted patent leather dresses all embroidered with bright gold zips. Sexy short black dresses were highlighted with sparkling fake diamond shoulder straps and sequins were sewn on to the black fabric to give the outfits that extra injection of glamour. Gold also featured quite heavily with mini dresses encrusted with sequins and accompanied with gaudy gold jewellery to add an extra sparkle. When Macdonald was asked about his inspiration for the collection he said: "Well basically it's about sex and S&M. It is about women freeing themselves of their every day life and just being crazy for the night. I love sex and I love glamour. I sell sex and glamour. Everybody wants to go out and be glamourous and sexy." Thirty year-old Macdonald born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. He studied textiles Brighton, England and then fashion at the Royal College of Art in London. He worked at Chanel before launching his own label in 1997. As well as designing under his own name, he is also the artistic director for French Couture House Givenchy, designing six collections a year. His customers include singer Kylie Minogue and actresses Elizabeth Hurley and Joely Richardson. Macdonald's loyalty to London and its reputation as a cradle for creativity and a trampoline for fresh talent, is in stark contrast to other big name Brits. In recent years big designers like Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, lured abroad to reinvent foreign fashion houses, have abandoned the city that nurtured them, preferring the larger, wealthier and powerful audiences of Milan, New York and Paris. "FABIO GAVAZZI" at MIFUR Milano 2014 International Fur and Leather Exhibition by FashionChannel Fabio Gavazzi is the designer of the name sake fur brand, a fashion house appeared immediately after the First World War, when the fatigue of deprivation in humans replaced attention to itself, the desire to prosper, to buy and to keep up with fashion. This wave Gavazzi family runs its own business making leather garments fur. Great experience of Italian tailors, using the best raw materials: all this had an effect and helped take a leading position in the top ten manufacturers of fur garments. Fluidity in sartorial creations and in details. Emphasis on the asymmetric cuts, nobility in minks and sables colours as a complement to surreal monochromatic ja-quard fabrics. Each collection is a succession of models which represent the eternal canon of elegance, functionality and style. The Fabio Gavazzi Fall/Winter 2014-2015 collection suggests refinement and meticulous attention to detail, together with nude and naturally bright shades. Pastels, sand and pale beigy-pink hues describe timeless charm, regal elegance and self-confidence. The color spectrum ranges from crepuscular shades like rouge noir and dark blues to denser and more vivid colors like carmine red and cobalt blue. Femininity is not ignored, but it moves towards a more masculine allure which enhances it and creates a new idea of elegance. Silhouettes are architectural, slightly oversized and made of essential lines that hug the body without being too clingy. Haute couture revives through shapes determined by folds that flow rhythmically and freely, enhancing the precious embroideries; refined trims give a strong touch of modernity. And what Fendi always had in mind was to present a full view of what a fashion house does. A fashion house does women's wear, men's wear, as you saw in the fashion show. We had beautiful little children on, down the runway, and of course a fashion house like Fendi does also fur. So of course there were going to be some fur pieces. So it's obviously something that people want, and people are not big on real fur any more. It's expensive, it's cruel, I think it's something that's on the way out. And I think that it's time for Fendi to realise that." 19. Various of protesters with large banner reading (English) "No fur" STORYLINE Italian fashion house Fendi was allowed to feature fur clothing in a fashion show in the South Korean capital Seoul on Thursday evening, to the anger of dozens of animal rights protesters who rallied outside the venue. Seoul officials decided to allow Fendi to include fur in the show, reversing an earlier decision, after Fendi said it would reduce the number of fur products on the catwalk. Fendi's CEO, Michael Burke, said the show wasn't about fur, but about celebrating the opening of a new man-made island on the Han river. The Floating Island is a cultural complex built by Seoul's city government. Burke also defended the inclusion of fur in the show, saying it was part of "what a fashion house does." Fendi is known as a master of fur craftsmanship. Fendi is taking part in the cultural "Design Seoul" campaign that South Korean officials are trying to promote this year. Ahead of the show, the animal rights group CARE (Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth) issued a statement saying the Floating Island should be used for public interest events, not for the "unethical promotion" of fur clothing. Activists and protesters gathered outside the building where Fendi's show was taking place, chanting slogans and hanging up fake fur dripping with red paint to symbolise animals' blood. US animal rights activist Sean Bienert said Fendi should realise that most people were no longer interested in real fur. Italian fashion house Versace and handbag and accessories maker Furla said they would stop using real fur in their creations, joining a growing list of luxury labels turning their backs on the fur industry. Fashion houses around the world are bowing to pressure and using alternatives to real fur amid pressure from animal rights groups and changing tastes of younger customers, who are increasingly aware of the environmental issues linked with the clothes they buy. Milan’s streets testified to the wearability of fur as the material for just tossing on and popping out of the house or for luxurious dressing to the nines. Splashes of colour and the depth of natural shades were presented as the twin peaks of form and function. And each style was rooted in innovation (Wonder where they got it from?). Have a look:

Various police arrest activists and take them away STORYLINE: Animal rights activists stormed a Fendi store in Rome on Thursday and splattered red paint on fur coats inside in protest of the fashion house's use of fur. About 15 members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) took part in the assault on the store on the chic Via Borgognona, in the capital's historical centre. Some of the activists, clad in fur coats and underwear, posed in the windows with signs reading "Fur is Dead". The protest took place during Milan's Fashion Week. A PETA representative in Italy called the use of fur in designer clothing "shameful". The Fendi fashion house is mainly famous for its fur coats. Police intervened after about half an hour, taking into custody at least five activists. (15 Mar 2018) VERSACE IS LATEST TO JOIN NO-FUR TREND IN FASHION Versace has become the latest fashion house to eliminate fur from its collections, joining Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss among others. The Humane Society, which campaigns against the sale of fur, welcomed the decision Wednesday, noting that "Versace is a massively influential luxury brand that symbolizes excess and glamor." The group released an interview with designer Donatella Versace, who was quoted saying, "Fur? I am out of that. I don't want to kill animals to make fashion. It doesn't feel right." Versace hasn't said when it would phase fur out of their collections, but given the fashion cycle it wouldn't be before the next winter season. Versace is joining a trend among fashion houses to make its collections more environmentally sustainable. In a game-changing move towards ending fur trade, global fashion house Gucci announced it will no longer use animal fur, beginning with its spring summer 2018 collection. The move has been welcomed by organisations like Humane Society International (HSI), The Humane Society of the United Statereadwhs (HSAS), and LAV-members of the Fur Free Alliance (FFA), a coalition of more than 40 animal protection organisations working together to end the fur trade. Gucci's President and CEO Marco Bizzarri announced the fur-free policy on Wednesday during the 2017 Kering Talk at The London College of Fashion, said a statement. Its fur-free policy includes mink, coyote, raccoon, dog, fox, rabbit, and karakul (otherwise known as Swakara, Persian lamb or astrakhan) and all others species specially bred or caught for fur. Kitty Block, President of HSI, said: "Gucci going fur-free is a huge game-changer. For this Italian powerhouse to end the use of fur because of the cruelty involved will have a huge ripple effect throughout the world of fashion." 구찌, 내년부터 동물모피 사용 중단 선언 The CEO of Gucci says the luxury fashion brand will go fur-free from next year. Marco Bizzarri made the announcement on Wednesday during a talk at the London College of Fashion, saying the changes will come into force with the brand's spring-summer collection. The Italian fashion house will also auction off all of its remaining animal fur items, as part of what Bizzarri called commitment to "sustainability". He said the new approach was in part thanks to Gucci's creative director, Alessandro Michele, who was appointed two years ago. Marco Bizzarri, the Italian firm's president and CEO, announced the fur-free policy Wednesday during the 2017 Kering Talk at the London College of Fashion. "Being socially responsible is one of Gucci's core values, and we will continue to strive to do better for the environment and animals," he said. Bizzarri said the decision to end the use of fur in Gucci clothing was in part thanks to the firm's current creative director, Alessandro Michele. "In selecting a new creative director, I wanted to find someone who shared a belief in the importance of the same values. I sensed that immediately on meeting Alessandro for the first time," Bizzarri said. Bizzarri also thanked the Humane Society International and the Fur-Free Alliance for their work in helping the fashion house stop using animal fur. In a statement, Humane Society said the Gucci move was a "huge game-changer" for the world of fashion. The society noted that Armani, Hugo Boss, Yoox Net-a-Porter and Stella McCartney are fashion companies that already refuse to use fur in their clothing. Animal rights organization PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has long protested against fur in fashion and welcomed the news on Twitter.
