15 tips that will help you detect a poor-quality item right on the spot. When we buy a piece of clothing, we want to get a quality item. Unfortunately, it often happens that new clothes shrink or get torn after the first wash. TIMESTAMPS Check the quality of cotton by squeezing it 0:40 Hold the fabric up to a bright light 1:09 Pull the seams to see the gaps 1:33 Avoid open zippers 2:02 Check the hem 2:24 Give fabric a tug 2:53 Make sure the zipper matches in length 3:13 Well-cut 3:26 Pay attention to the label 4:09 Make sure the seams and threads match Check buttons and buttonholes 5:07 Check if it has a yoke 6:17 Look at the coloring of the folds 6:42 A center back seam 7:08 Patterns matchup 7:33 How to Select the Perfect Clothes for Your Body Shape 8:26 SUMMARY - When buying clothes made of cotton, do this simple but very illustrative test: grab some fabric and squeeze it as tightly as you can in your fist for a few seconds. Then check if the fabric looks like a crumpled piece of paper. - To check the thickness, hold the fabric up to a bright light. If you don’t see much through it, you are safe to buy it. - A pull test can help you understand if you are holding a piece of junk in your hands, or if you have to pay for it right now feeling happy that you found it. So, try pulling stitched pieces apart. - Make sure you buy clothes and accessories with metal zippers covered with a strap: they are the most reliable and long-lasting. - Pants and skirts should have a hem of up to 2 inches. Blouses and shirts can do with a smaller one of about 1 inch. If there is no hem at all or it’s simply stitched, we do recommend buying this item. - A quality item will always keep its shape. Take a stretchy part of a dress or a skirt, tug on it and then let it go. - Zippers on dresses, skirts, or any other kinds of clothing should be equal in length, even and math in color. - If you notice symptoms like this, don’t jump to the conclusion that you shouldn’t have skipped your gym. It’s possible that the manufacturer just saved money and didn’t use enough fabric. - Natural fabrics, such as cotton, silk, and wool are strong and more durable than synthetics. However, 100% cotton can quickly shrink after washing. - Examine fabric pattern and thread colors. If patterns don’t match and stitches are made with threads of different colors, it is a clear sign that this item was made in a hurry. - When manufacturers make a fake or a low-quality item, they often don’t pay attention to little details. This is why you should always carefully examine buttons and buttonholes before buying an item. - Good shirt and blouses must have a shoulder yoke. It makes the top look neat on you. Cheap items of clothes don’t have a yoke, so they don’t just look bad, but also uncomfortable to wear. - If the coloring on the handles, straps, or fastenings looks faded or leaves marks on the folds, this is a clear sign of a low-quality item. - When you buy a jacket or a coat, pay extra attention to the center back seam. The thing is your back probably doesn’t look completely flat, so if you want it to look beautiful, there must be a quality back seam. - Even a very quick look at them can tell you a lot about how much effort has been put into producing the item. For example, if the pattern on the pocket doesn’t match the pattern on the rest of the item, it means that the production was sloppy, and they tried to save money on the materials. How to look taller? A petite stature has its advantages. For instance, you always look younger than your actual age. But there are drawbacks as well: you need to carefully choose your clothes and accessories because an unsuccessful combination can easily "shorten" your figure and deprive it of its gracefulness. The editors of Bright Side asked top stylists for advice on how to properly accentuate a petite stature and checked out their recommendations with the help of a charming model. Other videos you might like: 10 Exercises to Become Taller In One Week https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGJKjFHzuqo& Top 10 Best Foods to Become Taller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB0-jTeR2Vg How Tall Are People From Different Countries? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoRuSb2wE8A TIMESTAMPS: Tops and skirts 0:52 Belts and shoes 1:34 Jackets and blazers 2:12 Cardigans 2:58 Dresses 3:33 Contrasts and monochromes 4:03 Jeans and tops 4:35 SUMMARY: - It’s better to wear the top tucked into the skirt as this will highlight the waist, lengthen the legs, and make your figure slender and more fragile. - When it comes to shoes, clashing colors or bulkiness can make your legs appear much shorter. If you like wearing shoes or sandals that buckle at the ankle, the straps should match the tone of your skin. - Petite girls shouldn’t wear large or elongated jackets, suits, or blazers. They visibly shorten the legs and make the silhouette blurred and unwieldy. - Long cardigans present an easy solution to adding a few inches to your height without the help of high heels. Such clothing does a perfect job of creating that all-important uninterrupted vertical line, which visibly enhances your stature. - Voluminous dresses look best only on tall girls. When worn by miniature beauties, they press the wearer’s figure down to the ground, shortening your silhouette and, in particular, your legs. - Contrasting colors in clothing, such as a bright top and dark bottoms, separate the figure in half, creating a horizontal boundary line that emphasizes your lack of height. For “Seijaku”, the Couture collection presented in Paris on July 4th, 2016 Iris van Herpen explores the study of cymatics, which visualizes sound waves as evolving geometric patterns. In cymatics, the higher the frequency of the sound wave, the more complex the visible patterns. To provide a seamless experience between the show and its concept, Van Herpen collaborated with the Japanese musician Kazuya Nagaya to create a Zen bowl sound installation. “Seijaku" is the Japanese word and concept for finding serenity amidst life’s chaos. The artist performs live during the show in the L’Oratoire du Louvre which was specifically chosen for its exceptional acoustics that fuse the meditative sound waves of the Zen bowls. Within this immersive environment the models and the audience engage in a collective experience which breaks down the barrier between them. The collection reflects circular shapes and geometric patterns that are common in Cymatics, which serve as the base for this collection’s biomorphic volumes. Van Herpen continues exploring her ethos of “modern couture” by coating thousands of hand-blown glass bubbles in transparent silicone, creating a bioluminescent prism around the body. Inspired by the work of the Japanese artist Kohei Nawa, Van Herpen also uses a similar technique to silicone-coat tens of thousands of Swarovski water drop crystals, creating a dress with the look of a wet skin covered in dew drops. Other fabric techniques developed exclusively for the collection include stitching pearl-coated rubber fabric onto black tulle to create fossil and floral layering. A halter dress is laser cut and stretched over black wire to scroll around the body like waves of sound in a shell. Ethereal dresses float on a 3D moiré technique in which hand- plisséed and line-printed organza is handstitched on transparent tulle. The lightest Japanese organza is woven from threads five times thinner than human hair and made with the traditional Shibori technique, creating unique Cymatic patterns. ‘SEIJAKU’ YOUTUBE CHANNEL: http://www.youtube.com/fashionchannel FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/fashionchannelmilano TWITTER: https://twitter.com/FashionChannelP PINTEREST: http://pinterest.com/fashionchannel INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/fashionchanneltv The best videos, the most exclusive moments of the international runway since 1982 until now, of the most representative fashion weeks of the world. Held at the iconic Reservoir Gardens in Paddington, the venue continued to celebrate the notion of combining two opposing elements within nature – the tough venue balanced by ethereal pieces, geometric and shape combinations and of course sleek strands against wild curly halos. "Like always, I started with the fabrics and looked at shapes – strips of fabric and then circles and rectangles and how they all came together to work in harmony with each other. Working with Renya, we wanted to create hair looks that mimicked this, with the two completely different styles complimenting each other, as well as the clothing.” – Kit Willow

Pls. enjoy the game and help Elmo and his friends to avoid all the troubles on their way! "Sesame Street is a long-running American children's television series created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett. The program is known for its educational content, and images communicated through the use of Jim Henson's Muppets, animation, short films, humor, and cultural references. The series premiered on November 10, 1969, to positive reviews, some controversy, and high viewership; it has aired on the U.S.'s national public television provider (PBS) since its debut, with its first run moving to premium channel HBO beginning in 2015. The show has undergone significant changes throughout its history. The format of Sesame Street consists of a combination of commercial television production elements and techniques which have evolved to reflect the changes in American culture and the audience's viewing habits. With the creation of Sesame Street, producers and writers of a children's television show used, for the first time, educational goals and a curriculum to shape its content. It was also the first time a show's educational effects were studied. Shortly after creating Sesame Street, its producers developed what came to be called the "CTW model" (named for the show's production company, the Children's Television Workshop), a system of television show planning, production, and evaluation based on collaborations between producers, writers, educators, and researchers. The show was initially funded by government and private foundations but has become somewhat self-supporting due to revenues from licensing arrangements, international sales, and other media. By 2006, there were independently produced versions, or "co-productions", of Sesame Street broadcast in twenty countries. In 2001 there were over 120 million viewers of various international versions of Sesame Street, and by the show's 40th anniversary in 2009, it was broadcast in more than 140 countries." Here's how a simple mark ends up meaning something big as a great logo. Joe Posner, and Michael Bierut (designer of the Hillary Clinton logo) explain. For more from Michael Bierut on graphic design, check out his book "How to use graphic design to sell things, explain things, make things look better, make people laugh, cry, and (every once in a while) change the world": http://www.amazon.com/How-Michael-Bierut/dp/0062413902 Subscribe to our channel! http://goo.gl/0bsAjO About once a month, there's a new logo to fight about on the internet. The biggest one in recent memory was the highly controversial Hillary Clinton logo, which did not escape scrutiny from Vox.com either. But as a designer/filmmaker, something about these repeated discussions struck me as missing the point on what makes logos tick. It often has little to do with the subjective musings. So I called up Michael Bierut, the designer of that Hillary Clinton logo and countless others. He sat down with me and helped explain the elements of a great logo in the video above. Ultra-Ever Dry - Part 2: The sequel to the smash hit and viral sensation! http://youtu.be/IPM8OR6W6WE Ultra-Ever Dry is a superhydrophobic (water) and oleophobic (hydrocarbons) coating that will repel most water-based and some oil-based liquids. Ultra-Ever Dry uses proprietary omniphobic technology to coat an object and create a surface chemistry and texture with patterns of geometric shapes that have "peaks" or "high points". These high points repel water, some oils, wet concrete, and other liquids unlike any other coating. Ultra-Ever Dry has vastly improved adhesion and abrasion resistance, compared to previous superhydrophobic technologies, allowing it to be used in applications where greater durability is required.
