All Hollywood VFX Removed! What Movies Really Look Like

03:25
It used to be that what you saw on a movie set would pretty much be what you saw in the final movie. If you wanted to have a mountain in the background, you'd have to go to one. However with modern technology, CGI has made it possible to have that mountain in the background without even leaving your home. Just whip up a green screen and you're good to go! This advancement in technology has meant for some big differences between what is filmed and what we see in the final movie. Here are some Hollywood movies without the VFX applied! Enjoy :) Read more here: www.famefocus.com Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/focusfame

How Hollywood Makes Gunfights Look Realistic | Movies Insider

05:20
The British Action Academy runs several courses in high-octane stunt work. 'Gun Rush' is a popular course aimed at rising stunt performers who want to learn how to safely handle firearms for use in action sequences. We took the full-day course outside of Woking, west of London, to find out how firearms stunts are co-ordinated.  Founder Andreas Petrides has been working in the industry for over 28 years. He has worked on "Gladiator", four "James Bond" movies, "Band of Brothers" and "Star Wars" to name a few. As part of the course, Andreas runs through safety drills and shares his industry experience. Training is done with rifle, 8mm hand gun, Uzi and M4. Movies use a range of weapons during filming. ‘Blanks’ are working weapons loaded with blank cartridges. These produce a big muzzle flash or a loud ‘bang.’ There are replica guns, or for less detailed dummy guns — ones made of rubber. Actors need to know how to adopt a convincing gun stance. Two of these examples are a Boxer stance and a Weaver stance.  The prop guns themselves go hand in hand with sound design. When a gun fires, you're hearing three acoustic elements. The muzzle blast sound, the impact point, and the 'crack' sound of the bullet traveling through the air.  Without this layering, a movie just doesn't seem as realistic.  Find all the British Action Academy courses here: http://www.britishactionacademy.com/ MORE BEHIND-THE-SCENES CONTENT: Meet The 'Captain Marvel' Trainer Who Got Brie Larson In Superhero Shape | Movies Insider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk5FcgF0wa0 How Breakable Props Are Made For Movies And TV Shows | Movies Insider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRpIk7yd2RA How Mahershala Ali Was Turned Into An Old Man For 'True Detective' | Movies Insider https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znjNGpUDLKk ------------------------------------------------------ #Hollywood #Gunfights #INSIDER INSIDER is great journalism about what passionate people actually want to know. THIS IS HOW FAMOUS MOVIE SOUNDS ARE MADE

11:58
TechZone ► https://goo.gl/Gj3wZs Do you know how to create the atmosphere of a good movie? First you need a talented director, a cameraman and a scriptwriter, and some great actors to do their best. But then what? It turns out that the production of the film doesn't end here, because it has to go through the sound department first. Not only to dub the voices of the protagonists when necessary, but to give sound to the objects. After all, microphones that record the speech of actors cannot record, for example, the sounds of a busy street or the sound of horse hooves, otherwise it would be a terrible disaster. That's why sound recording experts, also known as Foley artists, come to the aid of the film industry and do their magic. Theses are the tools of these guys: a device to watch the film already shot, a good microphone and their imagination. So, in today's video, we'll show you the incredible way sound effects are made in movies

HOW TO Make a Movie (Part I) - The Filmmaking Process - Script Structure (Blake Snyder's Beat Sheet)

18:14
HOW TO Make a Movie (Part I) - The Process of Filmmaking - Script Structure - Blake Snyder's Beat Sheet We all have at the very least a very basic notion of how a film becomes a reality. You write a script, you shoot the film, you cut it and it’s good to go. Right? Well yes… but there is a lot more to it. I think you’ll be surprised if we really dive into each step of the process and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. When people tell me they want to become filmmakers I usually don’t encourage it very much. Why? Well, because it’s extremely difficult to make a movie. Let me say that again. It’s EXTREMELY difficult to make a movie and it’s a million times harder to make a good one. Film is the art of detail and the result of overwhelming hardwork. The most important thing a film needs to have is structure. Details can only exist and work if the structure is there. What good is a beautifully staged shot if there isn’t structure and meaning behind it? For instance, why do so many people dislike directors like Michael Bay and his “Transformers” franchise? It’s because all he does is execute well thought out shots and little more. There is structure in the “Transformers” films but it exists in a very basic form. It’s good enough to please younger audiences and break box office records. It’s not that Michael Bay can’t do better, it’s just that he doesn’t need to. But I digress. Let’s get back to structure. Where do we first need to have structure in a film? Where is structure most needed? You probably guessed it: The Script. FOLEY: How Hollywood Sounds Effects Are ACTUALLY Made! | Filmora Workshop Series Ep. 1

07:46
Try Filmora Video Editor: https://goo.gl/EJ6CXE Learn to make EPIC Hollywood Sound FX using everyday items! Have you ever noticed the sound design in a movie? Or were you so immersed in the movie that you didn’t even notice it? Well in that case, the sound designers did a perfect job. What you may not know, is that in pretty much every major Hollywood movie, each sound effect you hear is not recorded live. That’s Every Single Sound. Down to the footsteps of every character you see on screen. Sound effects like the rustling of clothes, punches being thrown, doors opening or closing, and almost every sound imaginable are recorded separately in a studio. When this happens, it is known as Foley! Why is this done? Well it's because there are times on set, where the sounds are not picked up from the mic. For example if a prop is fake, like a machine gun, the sound of it will not be authentic. To fill in these gaps, the sound is recorded in the post production phase in a studio. This process is called FOLEY. Without these crucial background noises, movies feel unnaturally quiet and uncomfortable. If you’re new to video creation, you soon will learn that sound and audio if half the video. What that means is that how good and professional sounding your video will be just as important as your visuals. DIY Foley Foley is created by a sound artist mimicking the actual sound in a recording studio. For example, to mimic the sound of bones breaking, I would break carrots or celery. A recording studio for foley has hundreds of different props to recreate or make new sounds. It has big tubs with water, wood surfaces, coins, sandboxes, cans, bicycles, scraps of metal, instruments etc. Now, for the recording part, you will need a few things. Such as some audio equipment, a quiet place, and items to make your sounds. You do not need to most professional equipment or a foley stage, but here is audio equipment we use for our videos. I recommend you use what you have, so if you don't have any of these things, don’t fret. Using your camera with a shotgun mic or even your phone’s audio recording ability in a quiet place will work great! Now the space where you record your foley is pretty important. But, depending on the space of the scene, for example filming in a large garage vs a box, the acoustics will sound differently. If I have time on location, I usually record the sounds on location but mostly I just use a quiet room as a studio. Before you start recording any Foley, you will need to have an edited film and a way of viewing it. Reason why you need to have your video finished is so you are not doing more sound work than you need to. This process can be quite long, so streamlining the process is strongly recommended. Its also helpful to put up your film on a monitor / screen and play it while you record the sound. You do this to help match the timing and speed up the process a little. I usually use a laptop, but it can be kinda hard to see. Recording Foley can be recorded in two ways. 1 - reenact the actions of the scene you are making but only record the sounds, or 2 - recreate them with everyday objects. One other thing I have to mention is that the surface in which you create a sound really matters. Not only for footsteps but pretty much all foley. I suggest to always use materials that will make sounds that suit the visuals. Like this example, our subject is walking on a more hard / tile like surface. So using a wooden surface would not really work. There are endless possibilities to the types of sounds you make. You just need to think creatively. Using simple household items, you can make sounds and bring your video to life. Most people talk about recording the perfect dialogue in a film but forget the environmental sounds that brings the film alive. To get you started we’ve added some super useful sound effects inside the Filmora Video Editor, like these. You can use all them for free when you try the software. If you don’t have it yet you can grab it here or in the description box below. We hope this Filmora Workshop episode was helpful. See you in next months chapter!

How The Sounds In 'Transformers' Movies Are Made | Movies Insider

06:33
"Bumblebee," the latest movie in the "Transformers" franchise, makes great use of sound. We sat down with the sound team on the Paramount lot and learned all the sounds behind your favorite Autobots, from Optimus Prime to Bumblebee himself, as well as, of course, battles and explosions. The "Transformers" movies are known for explosions and giant Autobots that crash into buildings. To make all that feel real, the sound has got to be just right. "Bumblebee," the latest entry in the franchise, was no exception. To learn more about how the sounds you hear in the movie are made, we talked to the film's Foley team. Foley sounds are any sounds based on a character's interactions and movements. Usually that means human characters, but it can also apply to the sounds of animals, and, in this case, big metallic creatures. Many of Bumblebee's movements aren't different than what you'd expect from a human character, but he's made of metal, so he's going to sound different. This is Dawn Lunsford, Alicia Stevenson, and David Jobe, the Foley team behind the movie. "Bumblebee" is available now on digital and on Blu-ray April 2. The Magic of Making Sound

06:33
In Hollywood, everything is magic and make-believe, even sounds. When you watch a film that immerses you completely in its world, you’re probably hearing the work of sound artists. If the work is done right, you won’t be able to tell that the “natural” sounds on screen are manufactured with studio props. That's the challenge for Warner Bros. Foley artists Alyson Moore, Chris Moriana and mixer Mary Jo Lang. Theirs is a practice in recreation, one creative element at a time. #Hollywood #Sound #FoleyArtists SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/vR6Acb Follow us behind the scenes on Instagram: http://goo.gl/2KABeX Make our acquaintance on Facebook: http://goo.gl/Vn0XIZ Give us a shout on Twitter: http://goo.gl/sY1GLY Come hang with us on Vimeo: http://goo.gl/T0OzjV Visit our world directly: http://www.greatbigstory.com This story is a part of our Frontiers series, where we bring you front and center to the dreamers, pioneers, and innovators leading society at the cutting edge. Dapper Cadaver has worked on projects like "Transformers," "Logan," "Stranger Things," and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." They make all kinds of props and pieces for the entertainment industry. One thing they do: fake bodies. They make the kind of bodies that appear during death scenes or especially dangerous stunts, among other things. You'll never look at an episode of "Law & Order" the same way again. Where Hollywood Keeps Its Iconic Props | Movies Insider

06:13
We took a trip to the Warner Brothers Corporate Archive in Los Angeles, California. This is where a lot of old props go from their movies once production is done. We saw a whole lot of stuff from the "Batman" franchise, including Batmobiles and Batman's many masks. We also saw items from "Suicide Squad," "The Matrix," and "Harry Potter." The newest thing we saw were outfits from 2018's "Crazy Rich Asians." Despite starting in just 1992, the Warner Brothers Corporate Archive goes way back. You can also find props and costumes from "My Fair Lady" and John Wayne. While the archive is not open to the public, much of this stuff goes on tour. What Great Movies Look Like Without Special Effects

If you're new, Subscribe! → http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-Looper Hollywood blockbusters have become increasingly reliant on visual effects over the past few decades, and recent advances in technology have made it so feats in VFX work that were considered impossible just a few years ago are now well within reach. Do you know how film sound effects are made? Stefan Fraticelli is a foley artist based in Toronto. He gets really creative to make sounds for movies. Here you will see what we real sounds are used to show the birth of a demon, blood-spurting gore, demonic vomit gore, a polar bear, a snake, parking in a garage, bicycle tires on a dirt road, a horse galloping and more! Stefan started his career 17 years ago. He first heard about it as a kid when he saw a foley exhibit at Universal Studios. He eventually met a foley artist and quit his job to start training, back in 2000. Stefan Fraticelli has worked on such well-known movies as Battleship, Repo Men, Snitch, Power Rangers, 500 Days of Summer, The Conjuring and many other great films. souHe was a foley artist for the famous TV projects Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill, Jane the Virgin, Friday Night Lights, and The Path. Where Hollywood Shoots All Its Plane Scenes | Movies Insider

04:38
Many of the most iconic plane and airport scenes were filmed in the same place — Air Hollywood, the LA production studio entirely dedicated to aviation. We take you behind the scenes of their sets to see how they created famous scenes in movies like “Bridesmaids,” “Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Kill Bill,” and in TV shows like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Office,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Silicon Valley,” and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Air Hollywood was also behind some of the famous plane crash sequence in “Lost.” Plus, they’ve provided the sets for music videos by artists like The Weeknd and Pitbull. As the biggest aviation-themed studio in the world, Air Hollywood has three full aircraft interiors and an airport terminal set that’s reconfigurable into any part of the air travel experience. They’re equipped with a huge warehouse of props and costumes from different decades and can easily switch out their seats, signs, and parts to replicate different eras, settings, and memorabilia from different decades. Their realistic production design has drawn some of TV’s and Hollywood’s biggest directors and producers, including Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Mindy Kaling, and Shonda Rhimes. How Prosthetics Are Made For Movies | Movies Insider

03:23
As seen with the Oscar-winning film "The Darkest Hour", makeup and prosthetics enable actors to fully look the part of the role they're playing. Makeup casters use a process called lifecasting. They'll cover the actor in "goop" to create an exact replica, with which they use to build prosthetics to wear. A lot of movies rely on CGI to bring movies to life, but when it can be done, prosthetics truly do enhance the realism of a film. #Prosthetics #Movies #INSIDER The INSIDER team believes that life is an adventure! In anticipation of “LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” we talked to voice acting coaches Joan Baker and Rudy Gaskins about some of the ways Hollywood actors train their voices for animated movies. The “LEGO Movie” sequel has even more star power than the 2014 original, with Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, and Will Arnett reprising their roles and new personalities like Tiffany Haddish and Stephanie Beatriz joining the cast. Celebrity voice casts are becoming the norm for big-budget animated movies. But how do big-name actors prepare for voice roles? How The Motorcycle Chase Scene From 'Venom' Was Shot | Movies Insider

05:32
“Venom” was one of the big blockbusters of 2018, and Eddie Brock’s epic motorcycle chase was one of the best scenes in the movie. Stunt coordinator Jack Gill takes us behind the scenes of this incredible sequence, explaining the ways they made the action look so realistic — and how Tom Hardy’s stunt doubles pulled off those death-defying jumps. Jack Gill has also created action scenes in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and the “Fast and the Furious” movies. On “Venom,” Jack and co-stunt coordinators Andy Gill and Spiro Razatos were responsible for designing the elaborate car and motorbike chase, which finds Eddie transforming into his super alter-ego — and one of the most famous Spider-Man villains — Venom. Good news for “Venom” fans: There’s a lot more in store from Sony’s offshoot Spider-Man universe, which so far has included “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and the upcoming “Spider-Man: Far from Home.” The studio owns the rights to over 900 Marvel characters, and has plans to develop new character movies in the coming years — including “Venom 2.” There’s no release date yet for the sequel, but Sony has confirmed that it’s in development. How Dragon Sound Effects Are Made | Movies Insider

04:11
How do dragons like Drogon and Toothless come to life? Sound designers for "Game of Thrones" and "How to Train Your Dragon" have to get creative in order to invent the sounds of a dragon. By layering the sounds of many animals, they can create the sound of a whole new creature. The INSIDER team believes that life is an adventure! Subscribe to our channel and visit us at: https://thisisinsider.com INSIDER on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thisisinsider/ INSIDER on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thisisinsider/ INSIDER on Twitter: https://twitter.com/thisisinsider INSIDER on Snapchat: https://insder.co/2KJLtVo #Dragons #SoundEffects #INSIDER -------------------------------------------------- Following is a transcript of the video: Narrator: Most of us know what a dragon sounds like, but they don't actually exist. And none can stop me! So, how does Hollywood know how to make them sound? Daenerys: Dracarys! Narrator: Just like visual artists, sound designers take inspiration from the world around them. The sounds for creatures like dragons, dinosaurs, and even Chewbacca are based on real-world animals. A sound designer may use sounds from lions, elephants, cats, and even tortoises to create the sound for just one dragon. They'll layer sounds together to create the sound of a non-existent creature. Paula Fairfield: So, my dogs are in the second episode of season five. There's a scene that's very intimate and you hear these like beautiful little nasal whistles. Okay, that was my dog, Angel. She's in a lot of Drogon's stuff and obviously in the wolves. So, I took that sound and put it in there. Narrator: Paula Fairfield is a sound designer for "Game of Thrones." Over the last five seasons, Paula has carefully crafted the sounds of Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion. She even used the vocal screams of fans to create the sound generated by Viserion's icy breath in the season seven finale. The final sound design of a scene is complex. It masks the individual sound effects so the viewer can't identify the sources. But, we can build our own simplified version of a dragon's sound. Combine some alligator, a little elephant, horse, add a pig and you've got the sound of a dragon. But, these are complex creatures. Dragons do more than just roar and breathe fire. Sound designers also use sound to craft a performance for the dragon. Just like Daenerys, Drogon needs to act and perform. Sound designers take emotional cues from animals to influence the sounds they create. Paula Fairfield: I was really proud of the fact that you can always hear from the time he was, you know, a toddler to now you can hear the essence of him in his voice. You recognize him as Drogon. And I see them as like your puppy dog. I mean, we have grown up with these puppy dragons in our world, right? And, I think that's why there is so much love for them. I've tried to bring my love of that into the show. Narrator: Each dragon is unique and sound designers are always trying something new. In "The Hobbit," director Peter Jackson used Benedict Cumberbatch's original performance as Smaug to influence the sound design of the dragon. Many of the pauses, hisses, and vocal affectations came from Cumberbatch. Smaug: So, tell me, thief, how do you choose to die? Narrator: These details help make Smaug incredibly impactful and memorable. And, in the "How to Train Your Dragon" series, sound designer Randy Thom used different types of sounds for each species of dragon giving each type of creature their own unique sound. Dragons and other fantastical creatures add a larger-than-life element to stories. The most memorable dragons leave space for the sound to have an emotional effect on the viewer. Without the incredible sound design, "Game of Thrones" and "How To Train Your Dragon" may not be as memorable. Daenerys: They're beautiful aren't they? Jon: Wasn't the word I was thinking of, but, but yes, they are. How Dragon Sound Effects Are Made | Movies Insider
