Bluff Point

10:27
The South, 1958. An off-duty police officer is driving home the family babysitter when she gives him a disturbing ultimatum. Starring Joel McKinnon Miller (HBOs Big Love, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Truman Show) and Julie McNiven (AMCs Mad Men), Scott W Lees noir short Bluff Point is a twisted tale from a wholesome era. When the police officers attractive teenaged babysitter makes a startling confession, what started as an innocent rural drive becomes a journey to the dark heart of desire, madness and human frailty. Forced to confront his most secret longings, the man faces an impossible dilemma in which the only way he can save his family is to betray it. Directed by award-winning music video director Scott W Lee and based on the screenplay by British playwright Kieron Barry, Bluff Point was shot by Roger Deakins protégé Tony Corapi entirely on the new Red One camera. Lush cinematography of the Tennessee countryside and lovingly recreated period detail serve as ironic counterpoint to the films unflinching psychological narrative; from its small-scale, domestic beginnings, Bluff Point soon unfolds to become a headlong rush into the abyss. Featuring sparse storytelling, fractured dialogue and two vivid, haunting central performances, Bluff Point is a thriller that combines the claustrophobic intensity of Hitchcock with the unfathomable moral core of Graham Greene. Brutal, dazzling and totally unforgettable, Bluff Point is a searing examination of love, lust and obsession.

Laura Kipnis on Men: Notes From an Ongoing Investigation at Miami Book Fair

12:26
Rich Fahle interviews author and essayist Laura Kipnis about her new collection, Men: Notes From an Ongoing Investigation, at Miami Book Fair International 2014. Watch more interviews at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwe1DQGIxfLPCBA-VWQCOWohnkNdBsbEW FROM THE PUBLISHER: From the notoriously contrarian author of Against Love, a witty and probing examination of why badly behaved men have been her lifelong fascination, on and off the page It’s no secret that men often behave in intemperate ways, but in recent years we’ve witnessed so many spectacular public displays of male excess—disgraced politicians, erotically desperate professors, fallen sports icons—that we’re left to wonder whether something has come unwired in the collective male psyche. In the essays collected here, Laura Kipnis revisits the archetypes of wayward masculinity that have captured her imagination over the years, scrutinizing men who have figured in her own life alongside more controversial public examples. Slicing through the usual clichés about the differences between the sexes, Kipnis mixes intellectual rigor and wit to give us compelling survey of the affinities, jealousies, longings, and erotics that structure the male-female bond.

Puritan Prayers - Longings after God

01:46
A large video collection of classic hymns, contemporary Praise and Worship songs, and the works (audio books, devotional readings, and sermons) of men greatly used of God, such as: Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, A.W. Tozer, A.W. Pink, John Owen, Oswald Chambers, Andrew Murray, E.M. Bounds, John Bunyan, George Whitefield, and many more, covering topics on many aspects of the Christian life. May your time spent here be blessed. http://vid.io/x3F Puritan Prayers playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDEA9C8EE13DD8342 The Old English Puritan was such an one, that honored God above all, and under God gave every one his due. His first care was to serve God, and therein he did not what was good in his own, but in God's sight, making the word of God the rule of his worship. He highly esteemed order in the House of God: but would not under color of that submit to superstitious rites, which are superfluous, and perish in their use. He reverenced Authority keeping within its sphere: but durst not under pretence of subjection to the higher powers, worship God after the traditions of men. He made conscience of all God's ordinances, though some he esteemed of more consequence. He was much in prayer; with it he began and closed the day. It is he was much exercised in his closet, family and public assembly. He esteemed that manner of prayer best, whereby the gift of God, expressions were varied according to present wants and occasions; yet did he not account set forms unlawful. - John Geree (The Character of an Old English Puritan, or Non-Conformist) The strength of Puritan character and life lay in prayer and meditation. In this practice the spirit of prayer was regarded as of first importance and the best form of prayer, for living prayer is the characteristic of genuine spirituality. Yet prayer is also vocal and may therefore on occasions be written. Consequently in the Puritan tradition there are many written prayers and meditations which constitute an important corpus of inspiring devotional literature. Too often ex tempore prayer lacks variety, order and definiteness. The reason for this lies partly in a neglect of due preparation. It is here that the care and scriptural thoroughness which others found necessary in their approach to God may be of help. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A Call to Separation - A. W. When I lived in Scotland in 2016, the producer Nassif Younes and I decided to re-record the song as a hurdy gurdy version. Here's the result! I hope you enjoy it. This instrument is called "hurdy gurdy" and has its roots in the medieval times. It works like a mechanical violin with a wheel bow, that can play bass, melody and rhythm all at once. This song is recorded using ONLY the hurdy gurdy. If you want to support me, give me a thumbs up and share this video on any social media platform you like! How Men Find Purpose in Life

11:20
How do I find my purpose in life? What was I put on this earth to do? They who have no Central purpose in their life fall an easy prey to petty worries, fears, troubles, and self-pity, all of which are indications of weakness, which lead, just as surely as deliberately planned sins ( go by a different route), to failure, unhappiness, and loss, for weakness cannot persist in a power evolving universe. A man should conceive of a legitimate purpose in his heart, and set out to accomplish it. He should make this purpose to centralizing point of his thoughts. It may take the form of a spiritual ideal, or it may be a worldly object, according to his nature at the time being; but whichever it is, he should steadily focus his thought forces upon the object which is set before him. He should make this purpose his Supreme Duty, and should devote himself to its attainment, not allowing his thoughts to wander away into ephemeral fancies, longings, and imaginings. This is the Royal Road of self-control and true concentration of thought. Even if he fails again and again to accomplish his purpose ( as he necessarily must until weakness is overcome ) , the strength of character gained will be the measure of his true success, and this will form a new starting point for future power and Triumph. -As A Man Thinketh by James Allen

What Men Need In A Woman

04:03
To learn more about What Men Need In A Woman, CLICK HERE: https://www.togetaboyfriend.com/get-man/ Princesses! Today we have a note that will make your life easier, as it will save you many problems with your partner. Do you want to keep your guy happy and in love? You just have to fulfill those things that all men expect from a woman. Do you know what they are? Do not worry, then we will reveal them to you. According to surveys and studies, these are the values and qualities that all men want their wives to have. If you meet these 7 points, you will surely have that man at your side. All your life! 1. Intelligence and independence. Much more important than an economic question is emotional independence and for that, intelligence is necessary. Men adore women who avoid drama, who give themselves respect for who they truly are and do not have the need to compare themselves with other women. Independence and confidence give security, and security in a woman is the most attractive attribute. Every man who hopes to form a family, seeks a couple with these qualities because they are the only ones that offer and guarantee a safe and harmonious relationship. 2. A woman who loves him for whom he is. Men expect to have a relationship that motivates them to improve but does not force them to change. That is, they want a woman who falls in love with their virtues, wants them for who they are and not for what they have. A true companion in good and bad, a faithful girl that inspires him to be better every day, and you? Do you meet those characteristics? 3. A free and unique woman. In other words, men want to be with a woman who has their own world, that is, their own friends, their activities, their own tastes, and pastimes. The worst thing that can happen to a relationship is that in the emotion, the couples leave their whole life to one side, to spend time together, because after a while, both will want their lives and their activities back and that is where Complaints and demands begin. In other words, men want a woman who knows that it is necessary for everyone to keep their space and time. 4. Willingness to communicate. Most men prefer direct, open and very honest communication; However, many girls, for some strange reason, prefer to speak in hints or metaphors, hoping that their men understand that strange language that only women understand. For the sake of your relationship, strive to communicate with your man clearly, you will see that your relationship improves greatly because communication is the key to everything. 5. A woman who focuses on her potential. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most important points. If you ask a man, "What is the quality you prefer in a woman?", More than one will tell you that his weakness is the girls who concentrate on their own dreams, longings, and qualities. A woman who concentrates on her own potential is a woman willing to go far and there is no man who resists that value. 6. Attitude and an open mind. No matter how romantic your boy is, he will never cease to be a man, that is why he necessarily needs to have at his side a woman who is willing to experiment to the fullest. Men have physical needs, if you learn to satisfy them, he will remain by your side forever. 7. Teamwork. But when things get serious in a relationship, without a doubt, the most important thing is to have a partner who is willing to work as a team. In the end, outside the beauty and the physical, men seek unconditional support, an accomplice and a partner who is willing to work with him, to build a better future. Now that you know, how many qualities do you have? That answer is for you. We wish you the best, best of luck. Please, let us know your opinions in the comments section below. Leonard Cohen - Take This Longing

Your beauty lost to you yourself just as it was lost to them. Oh take this longing from my tongue, whatever useless things these hands have done. Let me see your beauty broken down like you would do for one you love. Your body like a searchlight my poverty revealed, I would like to try your charity until you cry, "Now you must try my greed." And everything depends upon how near you sleep to me Just take this longing from my tongue all the lonely things my hands have done. Let me see your beauty broken down like you would do for one your love. Hungry as an archway through which the troops have passed, I stand in ruins behind you, with your winter clothes, your broken sandal straps. I love to see you naked over there especially from the back. Oh take this longing from my tongue, all the useless things my hands have done, untie for me your hired blue gown, like you would do for one that you love. You're faithful to the better man, I'm afraid that he left. So let me judge your love affair in this very room where I have sentenced mine to death. I'll even wear these old laurel leaves that he's shaken from his head. Just take this longing from my tongue, all the useless things my hands have done, let me see your beauty broken down, like you would do for one you love. Like you would do for one you love" _________________ DISCLAIMER:"These videos were made for promotional purposes. I DO NOT own the rights to any of the songs, pictures or videos used in the footage. due to some issues I had to change my name. from now I will write songs under the name To the South, Bluebird. visit my facebook page for more: https://www.facebook.com/tothesouthbluebird/ lyrics: your palms, your bones, your arms will outgrow me my knees up to my chest, the trees devouring our nest but near your mind, all bends unwind I need you when mouths collide stay by my side let nothing in between keep your heart evergreen the strength we’ll get as one believe me, towers will fall and crash under our song from all the things I dread you leaving cracks me up, I’d have my body struck instead you speak in tongues I’m painted blue but in the darkness we’re both the same I’ll know no shame won’t be afraid when I’m with you I know what’s true what’s true…? what’s true… when I’m with you the hunter strikes our sky you try but hounds are seizing, shots tear down your flight now let me be your rest, relieve me we’ll hold back time just by holding our breath you speak in tongues I’m painted blue but in the darkness we’re both the same I’ll know no shame won’t be afraid if I’m with you love will endure – endure, endure ce-aproape suntem amândoi între noi e-o luptă corp la corp iubire corp la corp ce departe suntem amândoi între noi e-o luptă corp la corp iubire corp la corp thanks to Celina Benedic for providing vocals to this song.
012 Unquenchable longings

07:23
Psalm 42:1-2 There are deep longings within our soul which are intense, but suppressed. We are designed in the image of God, with an intensity which is possibly second only to God. For centuries man has echoed the question, "What is the true meaning of life?" Sometimes the answer is embraced and oftentimes it is ignored. Our sinful state has led to a tremendous twist in those longings. They have became lusts. Man has two common responses towards this thirst. Firstly, by avoidance technique, he ignores the longing and gets occupied with something else. In such situation anything will do, except God. In replacement technique, he tries to satisfy the longing with other lesser things. Obviously, none of these techniques work. The hunger in fact increases. God has an answer to those longings. In John 4:10, Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman, who was living in avoidance and invited her to seek Him. In Isaiah 55:1-4, God invites people to come to the living water to drink freely instead of trying to buy things that don't satisfy. Develop a lifestyle of growing appreciation of how needy you are and then moment by moment yield into the Spirit-filled life. You will discover the eternal satisfaction of a living relationship with a living God that you have been designed for.
How Lives are Changed - Jerry Root

53:38
The Bible is a book of transformative power. Its words are life-changing. Nevertheless, the Scriptures can be used to abuse as well as for good. C. S. Lewis said, of all bad men, the worst of bad men are religious bad men. The sooner one is willing to die for the faith, perhaps he would be willing to kill for the faith, or paint a “Thus saith the Lord” across his own opinions. The prophet Ezekiel also warned of those false prophets who say, “Thus saith the Lord” when the Lord hath not said. How can someone biblically and faithfully preach the word for transformation? The Scriptures are called “the Sword of the Spirit”. In part, preaching the Scriptures transformatively requires that the preacher understand what it means to be filled with the Spirit. This talk sets forth how the preacher can be filled with the Spirit and how this is essential for good homiletics. If the Bible is to be preached transformatively, the ministry of the Holy Spirit must be active in the process. Furthermore, in Jesus’ Upper Room discourse he explains to his disciples that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is essential to their proclamational enterprise. This talk explores what Jesus meant regarding the Holy Spirit’s ministry in the life of his disciples as he deployed them. - See more at www.FOCLonline.org FOCLID 9105

[SECRET] 7 Steps Action Plan For Financial Freedom From The Richest Man In Babylon

Download This Ebook Here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/m67to9pfyci9gxz/the_richest_man_in_babylon.pdf Music: He's Pirate (Pirates of Caribbean) AVEX GROUP HOLDINGS.INC UMG This video will tell you the story: The Richest Man In Babylon – This video deals with the personal successes of each of us. Success means accomplishments as the result of our own efforts and abilities. Proper preparation is the key to our success. Our acts can be no wiser than our thoughts. Our thinking can be no wiser than our understanding. This summary animated story of cures for lean purses has been termed a guide to financial understanding. That, indeed, is its purpose: to offer those who are ambitious for financial success an insight which will aid them to acquire money, to keep money and to make their surpluses earn more money. MONEY IS PLENTIFUL FOR THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND THE SIMPLE RULES OF ITS ACQUISITION 1. Start your purse to fattening Let it be not less than one-tenth and lay it by. Arrange your other expenditures to do this if necessary. But lay by that portion first. Soon you will realize what a rich feeling it is to own a treasure upon which you alone have claim. As it grows it will stimulate you. A new joy of life will thrill you. Greater efforts will come to you to earn more. For of your increased earnings, will not the same percentage be also yours to keep? "Then learn to make your treasure work for you. Make it your slave. Make its children and its children's children work for you. "Insure an income for thy future. Look thou at the aged and forget not that in the days to come thou also will be numbered among them. "Provide also that thy family may not want should the Gods call thee to their realms. For such protection it is always possible to make provision with small payments at regular intervals. Therefore the provident man delays not in expectation of a large sum becoming available for such a wise purpose. "Counsel with wise men. Seek the advice of men whose daily work is handling money. A small return and a safe one is far more desirable than risk. "Enjoy life while you are here. Do not overstrain or try to save too much. 2. Control your expenditures This is the second cure for a lean purse. Budget thy 43expenses that thou mayest have coins to pay for thy necessities, to pay for thy enjoyments and to gratify thy worthwhile desires without spending more than nine-tenths of thy earnings." 3. Make your gold multiply This, then, is the third cure for a lean purse: to put each coin to laboring that it may reproduce its kind even as the flocks of the field and help bring to thee income, a stream of wealth that shall flow constantly into thy purse. 4. Guard your treasures from loss 5. Make of your dwelling a profitable investment Thus come many blessings to the man who owneth his own house. And greatly will it reduce his cost of living, making available more of his earnings for pleasures and the gratification of his desires. This, then, is the fifth cure for a lean purse: Own thy own home" 6. Insure a future income Therefore do I recommend to all men, that they, by wise and well thought out methods, do provide against a lean purse in their mature years. For a lean purse to a man no longer able to earn or to a family without its head is a sore tragedy. This, then, is the sixth cure for a lean purse. Provide in advance for the needs of thy growing age and the protection of thy family 7. Increase your ability to earn " Preceding accomplishment must be desire. Longings Past - A Prelude to Sorcery (1992) w/Lyrics

02:36
US Epic Heavy Metal hailing from Jackson, Michigan. Song from first album 'Meadows of Maseilya' Lyrics: In a time, long ago, when the oceans drank the earth and its soil spread throughout of thicket and sea There grew in wild fire and rage the youthful skies of Asteresque Within these skies of immense darkness and fear There thrived castles of glorious stars existing forever in the deepest of realities hands These infinite caldrons were filled with the tributary veins of ones perceptions and dreams flowing abundantly With flame and fury to the resting place of Chosen Wills For in this realm of barbarians, broadsword, and battle Bloodshed reigned as sovereign master amid the dwellers of this time and place The dwellers remembered as eyes of the serpent, were the great beasts of Talahaun The mystic wizards of Rendisafure, and the whispering spectres of Sacarious They all roamed the ruins lost and the skies untamed in search of fallen or weakened steadfastness So they may fulfil their fates and please the gods of Valdorian Dwellers of heart - also sauntered the land in search of their destinies Creatures of all types men and beasts entombed in a seemingly endless cloud of malevolence and somber This was the battalion of steel, the siege on savagery The marbled pillars of flesh supporting the cathedrals of hope and suns of the glowing tide This was Talahaun, the chosen sphere of Asteresque The essence of mystic sorcery and medieval beings where the rains of ever flourishing gold cleansed eternally

The Richest Man In Babylon Lesson Download This Ebook Here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/m67to9pfyci9gxz/the_richest_man_in_babylon.pdf Music: He's Pirate (Pirates of Caribbean) AVEX GROUP HOLDINGS.INC UMG This video will tell you the story: The Richest Man In Babylon – This video deals with the personal successes of each of us. 4. Guard your treasures from loss This, then, is the fourth cure for a lean purse, and of great importance if it prevent thy purse from being emptied once it has become well filled. Guard thy treasure from loss by investing only where thy principal is safe, where it may be reclaimed if desirable, and where thou will not fail to collect a fair rental. Consult with wise men. Secure the advice of those experienced in the profitable handling of gold. Let their wisdom protect thy treasure from unsafe investments 5. Thy desires must be strong and definite. General desires are but weak longings. For a man to wish to be rich is of little purpose. For a man to desire five pieces of gold is a tangible desire which he can press to fulfillment. Ransomed Heart Basic Trailer

03:11
Written on every man’s heart is a yearning for adventure, battle, and a beauty. A man needs a deeper understanding of why these longings govern him—and why it is that God made him just like that. And he needs a deeper understanding of why women long to be fought for, to be swept up into adventure, and to be the beauty. What if? What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the life we were meant to live? God gave us eyes so that we might see; he gave us ears that we might hear; he gave us wills that we might choose, and he gave us hearts that we might live. The way we handle the heart is everything. A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. (Wild at Heart) The story of Wild at Heart Boot Camp is one of men encountering God and experiencing healing, breakthrough, freedom and strength restored, all around the globe. For over a decade John Eldredge and his team have led more than 20,000 men through Wild at Heart Boot Camps. Hosted all around the globe each Bootcamp as taken place with a backdrop of beauty and adventure. It is an expedition of the heart. The men attending will never be the same. Simply put, Wild at Heart Basic is Wild at Heart Boot Camp, by video session hosted by courageous facilitators - men just like you - locally all over the globe. It is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy”. It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions, and his true nature—all of which has been given him by God. It’s an invitation to rush the fields at Bannockburn, to go West, to leap from the falls and save the beauty. For if a man is going to know who he truly is as a man, if he is going to find a life worth living, love a woman deeply, and not pass on his confusion to his children, he simply must get his heart back. God is up to something epic, and it’s much larger than John and his team. That’s why we’ve created Wild at Heart BASIC. Put simply, Wild at Heart Basic is Wild at Heart Boot Camp led by John and his team by video session, and facilitated by courageous men like you. Find a lead a Basic at http://wildatheartbasic.com.

Fanna-Fi-Allah carries the tradition and teachings of the Sufi’s in their music, the devotionally driven and passionate music of Qawwali. Through many years of study and practice under the guidance of Qawwali masters of India and Pakistan, their expression of Qawwali music has become an authentic representation and continuation of this ancient tradition of Sufi music. Sufism is alive and well in India and Pakistan, where Qawwali music celebrates the great Sufi mystics of old, and relishes in the love of the Divine through poetry. Sung with a powerful and soaring melodious chorus and accompanied by entrancing energetic rhythms of tabla and group clapping, the Beloved is celebrated with ecstatic devotion. Fanna-Fi-Allah gives audiences a glimpse inside this rich and vibrant Sufi culture, to which many would otherwise never experience. The groups founding members have spent over 20 years learning this classical art-form. During their 15 years of world-wide touring they have played at many major international festivals. They have enthralled audiences in the USA, Pakistan, Europe, Indonesia, India, Egypt, and others, with their dynamic skill, and passionate musical precision. With ten albums already published, Fanna-Fi-Allah have now given us an even greater glimpse into this Sufi world of Pakistan with the production of their new documentary: Music of the Mystics. Fanna-Fi-Allah continues to carry on an ancient wisdom in their music, a wisdom that is not only heard, but is profoundly felt. A universal message of devotion and tolerance that ignites hearts and quenches their deeper longings. A message that is so crucial for our time.

Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith." John Owen - (1616-1683), Congregational theologian Born at Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, Owen was educated at Queen's College, Oxford, where he studied classics and theology and was ordained. Because of the "high-church" innovations introduced by Archbishop William Laud, he left the university to be a chaplain to the family of a noble lord. His first parish was at Fordham in Essex, to which he went while the nation was involved in civil war. Here he became convinced that the Congregational way was the scriptural form of church government. In his next charge, the parish of Coggeshall. in Essex, he acted both as the pastor of a gathered church and as the minister of the parish. This was possible because the parliament, at war with the king, had removed bishops. In practice, this meant that the parishes could go their own way in worship and organization. Oliver Cromwell liked Owen and took him as his chaplain on his expeditions both to Ireland and Scotland (1649-1651). Owen's fame was at its height from 1651 to 1660 when he played a prominent part in the religious, political, and academic life of the nation. Appointed dean of Christ Church, Oxford, in 1651, he became also vice-chancellor of the university in 1652, a post he held for five years with great distinction and with a marked impartiality not often found in Puritan divines. This led him also to disagreement, even with Cromwell, over the latter's assumption of the protectorship. Owen retained his deanery until 1659. Shortly after the Restoration of the monarchy in 1660, he moved to London, where he was active in preaching and writing until his death. He declined invitations to the ministry in Boston (1663) and the presidency of Harvard (1670) and chided New England Congregationalists for intolerance. He turned aside also from high preferment when his influence was acknowledged by governmental attempts to persuade him to relinquish Nonconformity in favor of the established church. His numerous works include The Display of Arminianism (1642); Eshcol, or Rules of Direction for the Walking of the Saints in Fellowship (1648), an exposition of Congregational principles; Saius Electorum, Sanguis Jesu (1648), another anti-Arminian polemic; Diatriba de Divina Justitia (1658), an attack on Socinianism; Of the Divine Original Authority of the Scriptures (1659); Theologoumena Pantodapa (1661), a history from creation to Reformation; Animadversions to Fiat Lux (1662), replying to a Roman Catholic treatise; Doctrine of Justification by Faith (1677); and Exercitationes on the Epistle to the Hebrews (1668-1684). -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A Call to Separation - A. Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "A Call to Separation - A. W. Luciano Pavarotti & Lucio Dalla - Caruso

05:32
Luciano Pavarotti & Lucio Dalla. "Le traduzioni non rendono giustizia". Lyrics :- Here, where the sea shines and the wind howls, on the old terrace beside the gulf of Sorrento, a man embraces a girl he wept after, then clears his throat and continues the song: I love you very much, very, very much, you know; it is a chain by now that melts the blood inside the veins, you know... He saw the lights out on the sea, thought of the nights there in America, but they were only the fishermen's lamps and the white wash astern. He felt the pain in the music and stood up from the piano, but when he saw the moon emerging from a cloud death also seemed sweeter to him. He looked the girl in the eyes, those eyes as green as the sea. Then suddenly a tear fell and he believed he was drowning. I love you very much, very, very much, you know, it is a chain by now that melts the blood inside the vein you know... The power of opera, where every drama is a hoax; with a little make-up and with mime you can become someone else. But two eyes that look at you, so close and real, make you forget the words, confuse your thoughts, So everything became small, also the nights there in America. You turn and see your life through the white wash astern. But, yes, it is life that ends and he did not think so much about it on the contrary, he already felt happy and continued his song: I love you very much, very, very much, you know, it is a chain by now that melts the blood inside the veins, you know... I love you very much, very, very much, you know, it is a chain by now that melts the blood inside the veins, you know... This song was written for all of those who migrated from southern Italy and Sicily to America in the 50's and earlier, the men went first and left their wives and in many cases their children behind. The song is more than it's lyrics, the pain of the separation obvious. Lucio expresses this fact because he uses the southern italian and sicilian words when he tormented and in pain( because of the separation from his love) sings "Te voglio bene ASSAI" rather than the proper Italian which would be " Ti voglio bene tango" He mentions America twice in the song. And when he speaks of the woman with the green eyes like the sea, it is in his memory that he is seeing her and he mentions america again. So not at all because he is dying physically... more that he is in pain because of the miles between him and his woman and he is dying emotionally. Controversially, the song simply tells about the pain and longings of a man who is about to die while he is looking into the eyes of a girl who was very dear to him. This song is most probably a way of romanticizing Enrico Caruso's last days in Sorrento and Napoli. Enrico Caruso, a great legend of the Italian Opera was one of the greatest and most sought-after singers during the late 19th and early 20th century. He lived a very difficult and rather unhappy life having had many challenges and problems with Italian opera houses. He gained more fame and success in the United States. He was born to a very poor family in Naples. He was often involved with women and had several love affairs with prominent married women in the performing arts. These love affairs often ended badly. With Ada Giachetti (his most passionate and longest love affair) who was already married, he had two sons, but in the end she left him for their chauffeur. Then he met and wed a woman 20 years his junior, Dorothy Park Benjamin, just a few years before he died, whom Lucio Dalla describes in this song "Caruso". With her he had a daughter named Gloria.

It is right and good to call out the sin of evil men — but let’s not swing so far to one side that we forget that godly men still exist in the world. There are still men in this world who desire to embrace their masculinity as God intended — by cherishing women, protecting women, caring for families, & leading in genuine humility. Ransomed Heart BASIC Trailer

02:13

From the notoriously contrarian author of Against Love, a witty and probing examination of why badly behaved men have been her lifelong fascination, on and off the page It’s no secret that men often behave in intemperate ways, but in recent years we’ve witnessed so many spectacular public displays of male excess—disgraced politicians, erotically desperate professors, fallen sports icons—that we’re left to wonder whether something has come unwired in the collective male psyche.
