Gary Sinese directed this respectful re-telling of John Steinbeck's classic novel, with Sinese as the wily George and John Malkovich as the brutish, simple-minded Lennie. Set during the Depression era, the film opens as George and Lennie are running from a woman with a torn dress, who has sent a gang of ruffians to chase the two out of the county. After a long bus ride and a ten-mile walk, George and Lennie arrive at a migrant farm in California's San Joaquin Valley, where they seek work. George dreams of putting together enough money to buy a small piece of land where he and Lennie can build a home; he hopes that in California the two can realize their dream. Unfortunately, the foreman of the ranch, Curley (Casey Siemaszko), enjoys tormenting Lennie, while Curley's frustrated wife (Sherilyn Fenn) entices Lennie with her sexual allure. Here are the cliff notes for why men flake:
1. He's Seeing Other Women
… and he's debating his best option. Unless you're in a committed relationship with a guy, you have to assume that he's at least talking to other women.

In the spirit of transparency, I used to be very flakey myself until I was ready for a real relationship.
I personally found that when I was dating a bit more casually, I'd be as flakey as I could possibly get away with.
Then…
I met Jessica.
She was so incredibly unaccepting of me being a flake, that I wouldn't even dare to pull a stunt like that with her.
So remember: unless you're in a committed relationship with a guy, keep your options open.
2. He's Pursuing Another Woman Because She Seems Easier
I was definitely never that bad, but I know plenty of guys who are.
Some guys, who are only looking to sleep around, will often bail on a woman like you.
He knows that you're a sexy, confident woman, who isn't going to deal with his shenanigans, so he pursues an easier "target."
Once you start positioning yourself as a high-value woman, some guys you'll meet will simply flake on you for a woman he thinks will put out more quickly.
This is actually a good thing.
It might not feel like it at the time, but it really is.
When a guy flakes on you because he's pursuing easier women to sleep with, he's freeing up your time and your emotional energy to be with an actual high-value man.
Guys who are only going for easy women are the bottom feeders of the dating world.
They're like crabs… scurrying around… looking for the easiest women to sink their claws into.
But you… my sexy lady… are a glorious swordfish.
You're waiting to be snatched up by a caring, respectful man, and you're not to be messed with.
3. You Always Flake On Guys, and Karma is a Bitch
I personally believe in karma, and I believe in the law of attraction, especially with dating.
Many times, what you're putting out into the universe comes right back to bite you in the ass tenfold.
If you find that you're flaking on guys that maybe you're not that interested in… and you're constantly flaking on them for other guys… then you kind of deserve to be flaked on yourself by the guy that you really want.
Stop that behavior immediately and start treating men the way you want them to treat you.
The Super Awesome Magic Text That Turns The Tables:

If you ever get a text last minute and the guy is flaking on you, then go ahead and send him this text:
"Hey, I'm actually super busy this weekend. I might be around later next week. Give me a call then and let me know what you were thinking."
Make him reinvest his time and energy to call you, and if he won't call you, he's not worth your time.
You are a high-value woman who doesn't deal with any of this bullshit.

Fat loss from the three most stubborn zones for men can be quite difficult, unless you have a plan. In this video, I share with you a three phase plan for losing fat in the abdomen, love handles or waistline area, and the chest. These spots are where most men carry their fat and are the last to lose it when dieting or trying to cut down. The reason for this is actually based on our genetics, but it doesn’t mean that we cannot do something about it.

The first thing you have to realize is that all three of these areas share the common problem in that they look bad mostly because of the abundance of body fat. You may even have developed muscles underneath, but as long as the fat is present you will never get a chance to see what it looks like. This means that your priority has to be on cleaning up your nutrition. If you refuse to eat better, no matter what else you do, you will never look better.
Early on however, you don’t have to get too specific with your eating. Simply make a pass through your diet and get rid of the obvious garbage that you know is not helping your cause. Sweets, excessive alcohol, sugars, etc can all be removed and replaced with more nutritious foods. You don’t have to necessarily worry about your macros at this point but just getting rid of the junk food and liquid calories.
Realizing that it will take some time to see the results of these changes however, you should start chipping away at the trouble spots in another way. For the abdomen, you want to first ensure that you can properly activate the muscles in the rectus and transverse abdominis. Most find this difficult and even when they do perform ab exercises they get frustrated at not being able to feel them. Next, you want to start adding in ab training but mostly in the form of rotational ab exercises. Instead of trying to do crunches and having the fat get in the way of the movement, you can work your abs without having to crunch. Finally, you want to incorporate moves for your entire core, such as with the 7 minute ab workout included above.
When it comes to the love handles, you want to start by working the lats. Here especially, you want to focus on full contractions and range of motion to ensure proper development of the muscles that actually insert onto the top of the pelvis near your waistline. The more you can build these muscles the greater the visual differential between your waist and your shoulders and the better the v taper. Next add in direct ab work and finish up with direct oblique training for the best look as your diet gets dialed in.
Finally, for the chest you want to stretch it and strengthen the muscles of the rotator cuff to posturally improve the visual appearance of your chest. From here, work the serratus anterior. This will give your chest more natural underlying support will helping to visually chisel out the area underneath. Finally, you want to make sure that as your body fat levels decrease and fat loss continues that you are working your chest in all three heads. Use the angles of the band work as an example of how to hit the upper, lower and middle chest.

That's why we've created this guide. Stick with these realistic steps and you can expect a healthier metabolism, more energy, more muscle, less fat, increased testosterone and—more importantly—a different mentality when it comes to eating.
Before you read any further, ask yourself: What are the last three "bad" things that you ate? When was the last time you tried a "diet"? Why did it fall apart? These problems will come up again if you don't fix them; most hurdles in fitness are behavioral problems that need to be altered. Your last diet most likely fell apart at one of three stages of eating: buying the groceries, preparing your meals, and eating your meals. Here's how to fix those habits and start with good ones.
Remember how grandma made a big pot of chicken soup on Sundays so you could eat leftovers throughout the week? She was on to something. Prepare your meals for the week ahead, and get in the routine. It won't feel like "dieting," and it'll save you the effort of thinking about what the hell you're going to eat every day.
Calories can sneak up on you with portions that are larger than you think. Use the nutrition facts to your advantage so you know how many macronutrients—carbs, fats, and proteins—go into your body. That's not to say you should count calories—but you should balance out your consumption to make you get enough protein (for building muscle) and fats and carbs (for energy).

In this video, I dive into 10 key principles that make a weight loss diet for men effective, simple and sustainable. If it is all of these things, you can be sure it’s the best and will help you achieve your weight loss results.
*#1 - Which Diet Is Best?
If you’ve heard of all the different types of diet out there, like Paleo, Low-Carb, Vegan or Vegetarian, or the Caveman Diet, you want to know which one to follow. Essentially, you want to follow a diet that isn’t restrictive, if you want to follow it long term. Your diet should be balanced with all the macronutrients (Protein, Carbs, and Fat), along with vegetables.
*#2 - Build 'Perfect Plates'
Following on from principle #1, you should use the balanced approach of ALL the macronutrients to prepare ‘perfect plates’, which is a guide to how you should portion these. A ‘perfect plate’ is simply ¼ plate Protein, ¼ plate of Carbs, ½ plate Vegetables and a small serving of healthy fats.
*#3 - The 4 x 4 Meal Timing Strategy
This strategy basically means that you should have 4 meals per day, spaced 4 hours apart. This could be breakfast at 8am, Lunch at 12pm, Snack at 4pm and Dinner at 8pm. This setup helps to keep your blood sugar stable, helping to control cravings and keeps your metabolism high the whole day too. This, paired with the ‘perfect plates’ also controls your calorie intake without you needing to count calories.
*#4 - Eat a low-carb breakfast
This is the only small tweak to the ‘perfect plates’ principle, which is for breakfast you should eat a low-carb meal. This helps kick-start your metabolism at the beginning of the day and helps hormone levels that let you know you’re satiated. Protein and healthy fats do this much better than carbs, so you’ll feel full until your next meal.
*#5 - Pick your 3 "Go-To Foods"
Picking your ‘go-to’ foods is basically the easiest way to ensure consistency when following a weight loss diet plan for men over 40. *#6 - Plan one free meal each week
Another approach that makes this the best weight loss diet plan is allowing yourself 1 pre-planned meal each week that is a free meal. You don’t need to follow the perfect plates principle or worry about what macronutrients it contains. This one small indulgence each week will keep your diet plan sustainable over the long term.
*#7 - Hit your ideal water target
When you’re following a weight loss diet for men over 40, you need to consider hydration as well as food intake, so you should set a target of around 100–150 oz of water each day. Water keeps you full, and it keeps your metabolism going by keeping your liver clear to metabolize fat.
*#8 - Time calories around workouts
This is a great tip that you don’t often hear, but timing your calories around workouts means eating your meal after your workout. For example, if you work out in the morning, do so fasted, then eat breakfast. If you train in the evening, have your dinner straight afterward. Timing your free meal for after a workout is great advice too.
*#9 - Track your weight & adjust portions
Tracking your weight at least twice per week is beneficial to keep an eye on how your weight loss diet plan for men is working. If you weigh yourself Thursday and Sunday, for example, you’ll be able to see trends that occur around any changes or deviations you’ve made throughout the week. It also offers positive feedback loops as you see progress.
*#10 - Eat more Cholesterol
Eating more cholesterol can sound a bit counter-intuitive, but cholesterol rich foods like eggs will help balance your cholesterol levels as well as testosterone levels, which is super important as a man over 40, looking to lose weight.

Because whether you're at the beginning or more advanced stage of your muscle building, it's always helpful to have some extra strategy to make your workouts even more effective. And while many of the tips in this video are centered around the best muscle building routine, you'll also find strategies focused on making your fat loss workouts even better.
So to make things easy, I broke this video on the best workout routine for men into three different categories (beginner, intermediate and advanced). That being said, even if you're at a more advanced stage, I highly recommend you watch through the entire video. This stage is really all about creating the best foundation possible for maintaining amazing results with your workouts. Whether your focus is fat loss or muscle building, there are three main principles we need to look at first to do just that.

This phase of the best workout routine for men is for those who've been training consistently for around a year. You understand the compound movements, you're starting to see results and you want to take it to the next level. And as you'll discover this is an incredibly important time in your fat loss and/or muscle building journey because we need to mix things up a little. Your body starts to adapt to your current training, so to see more results there are four main principles we need to address.
- Increase volume and intensity
- Focus on creating constant tension with each exercise

The Advanced Guide on the Best Workout Routine for Men (9:00)
This is the phase of your workout journey where you've been lifting regularly for at least 4 or 5 years, you've made great gains, but your progress has really slowed down. And while that's to be expected, there are some essential strategies you can use to ramp them back up a little bit and continue moving forward.

Proteins are incredibly important for your weight loss diet. Not only do they help your body maintain the muscle that boosts your metabolism, but they’re also the best at keeping our body full. So if you find yourself fighting hunger regularly throughout the day, it’s likely you could use more protein.

Again, fats are not something we want to eliminate from our weight loss diet. They can help manage our good cholesterol, boost our testosterone and even improve our brain function. And many protein foods will naturally contain healthy fats in them, but there may be days where you will want to supplement with additional fat sources.

- Avocado
