March 2nd, 2019 is Concorde’s 50th anniversary since her first flight. Concorde was absolutely the gold standard of aviation I flew on the supersonic Concorde in 2003 from New York to London in just over 3 hours at twice the speed of sound. This video shares with you my ultimate flight of my life; on-board the supersonic Concorde. Re-live the extraordinary and exciting 50th anniversary celebrations held at the Brooklands Museum in Surrey, England, which houses the only Concorde simulator in the world, and see for yourself why this aeroplane will always be on another level compared to all others. The Concorde jet was a miracle of engineering in many ways – a flight from London to New York could be completed in three and a half hours, allowing wealthy businessmen to, astonishingly, fly to New York for a meeting and return home the same day. The aeroplane’s top speed of just over twice the speed of sound – Mach 2.04 or 1,354 miles per hour – meant that time travel was no longer confined to the realms of science fiction; flights could take off in darkness in London in the evening and arrive in day-light in the early afternoon in New York the same day. Even today the aeroplane looks extremely futuristic which is a testament to how far ahead of the curve Concorde was at the time. In this video, we take a look at the internal features of this aeroplane which made it unique, including its fighter jet like cockpit with analogue controls, smaller than average windows to protect against decompression and cooling and heat protection system to deliver the plane from the effects of friction with the air, magnified many times due to the plane’s supersonic speeds. We also see the famous drooping nose and accompanying visor of the Concorde jet, giving greatly enhanced landing and take-off visibility when down and supreme aerodynamic efficiency when raised. The Concorde jet was developed jointly by Sud Aviation, now Aerospatiele and Airbus, and the British Aircraft Corporation, now BAE systems. Sadly, the production run of Concorde was much smaller than anticipated due to massive overruns in both time and budget – the original program cost of Concorde was estimated at £70 million but ended up being £1.3 billion. With so few planes, British Airways and Air France could never recoup the cost of the aeroplanes and so this was absorbed by the British and French governments respectively but their high ticket prices – a round-trip from London to New York typically cost $8,000 – still made Concorde highly profitable for the airlines, apparently ensuring that Concorde would race along the skies for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, the sonic boom of Concorde, was not welcome in populated areas and so Concorde was restricted to flights over the ocean. The fatal event for Concorde, however, came in July 2000 when Air France Flight 4590 crashed after take-off, en route to New York, before even leaving France, killing everyone on board. Subsequent reductions in ticket sales meant that the decision to retire Concorde was taken in April 2003 and attempts by Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic to purchase the British Airway’s Concorde fleet were not successful. Sadly, fate cut short the service life of Concorde but she will always be remembered as the lightning bolt of the skies; able to go higher, faster and louder than any other commercial aeroplane. Her legacy survives in the likes of the Boeing 777, which make use of the electronic fly-by-wire acceleration systems that were first introduced in Concorde.

Here is an example of the kind of time I've been putting into each event Yes 40 hours is a lot of time & I couldn’t believe it myself until I started taking a real hard look at what I was actually doing. It can get insane! Not every wedding has 40 hours of prep involved. Sometimes it’s a little less & I make every effort to streamline this stuff, but my clients are typically detail oriented. For the sake of illustrating what I’m talking about, here are some numbers: Pre-client meeting: emails, phone conversations, texting sessions, etc = Total 2 hours Pre client meeting prep = 2 hours Initial client meeting: Drive time = 2 hours round trip average. Meeting = 1 ½ hour. Total = 3 ½ hours Post meeting email, phone & texting sessions = 2 hours + Site inspection – Drive time = 2 hours round trip average. Inspection time = 1 hour. Total = 3 hours Post inspection Phone, email & texting session for timeline = 1 hour Music list research for ceremony, cocktail, dinner & reception = 1 to 5+ hours. Average 2.5 hours Preliminary ceremony, cocktail, reception timeline & Floor Plan rough draft = 2 hours Final client meeting – Drive time = 2 hour average round trip. Meeting = 1 ½ hours = 3.5 hours total Final ceremony, cocktail, reception timeline & Floor Plan = 2 hours Wedding Ceremony Rehearsal – Drive Time 2 hours round trip average. Rehearsal 1.5 hours = 3.5 hours We are now at 27 hours Week-of prep, includes vender communication, music service & custom music organization backed up 3 times with custom edits, all equipment prep including reception & ceremony systems, specialty gear per set up logistics, wireless power prep & light programing (think uplighting), last-minute song, wedding party, specialty dance etc timeline changes, re-write of timelines for my personal use, clothing prep, assistant management when needed, vehicle fuel up/fluid check/ etc = up to 2 solid 10 hour days = 20 hours Now, we’ve got 47 hours. If I can shave 7 hours off of that time, we’ve got 40 hours Just for fun, let’s go a step further Day of – Last minute anything with pack & load up = 2 hours. Drive time = 2 hours round trip. Extra “just in case” travel time = 1.5 hours. Load in / set up ceremony = 1 hour. Ceremony performance = 1 hour. Set up / flip / cocktail / dinner / reception = 1 hour (assistant doing most of this while you are doing ceremony). 2nd set up performance time = 5-7 hours(average 6 hours). Break down / load up = 1 hour. Unload = as quickly as possible. Total time = 15.5 hours + Now, we have a total time invested, prep & performance of 62.5 hours! If you could shave 22.5 hours off of this, you still have a total of 40 hours invested in each event.

This system travels approximately 4.81 miles round trip and takes an average time of 18-25 minutes, average station wait time is less than 2 minutes. 64 Bombardier APM-200 vehicles service this system with a total of 32 trains. I cut out most of the station waits to save space on the video and also only filmed at 1080 30 FPS. I would also like to apologize about the rude guy next to me talking on his phone later in the video. There was plenty of room on the train and for whatever reason, he decides to stand a foot away from me.

This algebra video tutorial explains how to solve upstream and downstream problems such as distance rate time word problems. This first question asks you to solve for the speed of the boat in still water given the time it takes to travel upstream and downstream and given the speed of the river / water current in km/hr. The second problem asks you to find the speed of the airplane and the tail wind in mph given the distance traveled in miles and time it takes to travel in the forward and to make the return trip. This video shows you how to solve it using distance rate time tables or DRT tables. It provides the distance formula. This hike is 17 km round-trip. 720 meters elevation gain. Rated as intermediate/moderate. Average time 7 hours. Cool day trip adventure to hike Bowen Island. Highly recommended.

Gatwick is London's 2nd airport and is the world's busiest single runway airport From Gatwick the fastest way is the Gatwick Express, it takes 30 minutes in to London Victoria Station. Also every 15 minutes. No tube at Gatwick. A taxi will cost you about 55-65 GBP from Heathrow Rail fares to London vary enormously from very cheap to prohibitively expensive - the golden rules are to book Advance tickets for a particular train time, don't travel into the city on Friday afternoons and Sundays, and avoid buying tickets on the day of travel. London has one international high speed rail route (operated by Eurostar ) rom Paris (2h 15min) and Brussels (1h 50 min) diving under the sea for 35 km (22 mi) via the Channel Tunnel to come out in England. It terminates at St. Pancras International Station. Whatever you do.. don't drive! 5 - Getting Around: It’s all about the tube, officially known as the London Underground Buy an oyster card Daily cap, or buy a 7-day card You use the Oyster Card for busses too Take the double decker busses, tap when you get on. Don’t tap off. Peak times are Monday to Friday between 06:30 and 09:30 and between 16:00 and 19:00. off-peak rate is much cheaper. Download the Citymapper app to help with navigation London Black Taxis are world famous Uber is also an option, though black cabs can be faster, they use bus lanes Santandar Bicycles -- first 30 minutes are 2 GBP, every next 30 mins is free if you return it. The best way to get around is your feet though! Central london is quite compact Make sure to pay attention to the “look left/look right” signs before crossing the street 6 - Food: 7 - Tipping: Restaurants: Standard is 12.5%, 15% for good service. No tip of there is a service charge Cabs -- round up.. Or 10%. No tip in bars and pubs for drinks, unless you order food. Hiked up Nak & Yak Peak. Located at Coquihalla Summit Recreation Area, BC. Ascend up Nak Peak first then hiked down from Nak on the ridge and up Yak Peak. From Nak to Yak around 1.5 km distance. Descend down the Yak Peak trail. We hiked loop route. About 8 km. 910 meters. Average time 6 to 8 hours. Rated as difficult. Nak Peak trail around 8 km round-trip. 810 meters (from sea level 2010 meters). Average time 5.5 hours. Rated as difficult. Require route finding. Flagging on this trail is hard to spot. Overgrown bushes & steep. Yak Peak trail around 6.5 km round-trip. 850 meters (from sea level 2039 meters). Average time 5.5 hours. Rated at difficult. 28% steep grade. Hiking & scrambling.

I work through 6 d=rt application problems. Traveling in same direction. How long for one person to catch another. 0:06 In this first example at 9:30 I say that the time of 1 hour 15 minutes was Mary's travel time, but it was in fact Tom's travel time. There is an annotation correction because I misspoke at the end of the first example. t was defined at the beginning of the problem as Tom's travel time, I should have written that down. So when I said "That is how long it is going to take Mary to catch up."... that is incorrect. Tom was traveling that long so the time would be 2:45 when she caught up. Mount Crickmer located North of Mission BC. Starting your hike from the FSR gate around 18 km round-trip. 1160 meters elevation gain (1360 meters from sea level). Average time 8 hours. Rated as intermediate/difficult. With some over grown on the trail. Little route finding. The views were very enjoyable!
