Dr. Harvey Karp, also known as "The Baby Whisperer," explains how to put your baby to sleep using his five S's. This involves swaddling the baby, providing gentle white noise, and rocking the child. By doing this you are imitating the womb, which helps the baby to fall asleep. The INSIDER team believes that life is an adventure! I recommend you to listen to the full audiobook Secrets of the Baby Whisperer, free at our library. In this groundbreaking book, Tracy Hogg does for parents and infants what Deborah Tannen has done for couples: teaches them to communicate. In her career as a registered nurse, midwife, and nanny, Tracy has cared for thousands of babies, and in Secrets of the Baby Whisperer she uses her vast experience to demystify infancy. Working with award-winning journalist Melinda Blau, Tracy blends her clinical expertise with the latest scientific findings in infant research, showing parents how to identify their own parenting style as well as their infant's unique temperament. The text is filled with heartwarming field notes and realistic strategies, such as Tracy's EASY program, which gives babies the feeling of security they need and lets parents finds all-important time for themselves. For anyone who's ever been frustrated by a baby's cry, Secrets of the Baby Whisperer will be an invaluable source of support, advice, and wisdom.

Read my blog post on how to shush pat: https://mamaducksaid.com/2016/05/18/the-life-changing-magic-of-shush-pat-how-to-shush-pat-sleep-train-baby-whisperer-technique-no-more-rocking/ Our baby used to be dependent on rocking to fall asleep. We read about the "shush pat" technique but only learned how to do it after watching our nanny do it. Since we couldn't find any good Youtube video tutorials, we thought we'd share this video in case it is helpful for others! Some tips: - Gently pat your baby and adjust the level of patting based on how upset and whiny your baby is -- you don't want to overstimulate her while she is trying to fall asleep! - Use a soft "shhhh" while patting to help calm her down - Lifting and patting her legs helps relax her whole body - Try to leave the room as soon as she stops crying and is calm The technique will take 10-15 minutes when you first start doing it, but be patient! You'll see the time required gradually decrease until your baby doesn't even need shush pat anymore.

This is what worked for me and Im hoping it will help some other Mommas out there. I struggled for the first 8 weeks with my newborn on getting her settled and happy. She was fussy and not sleeping much at all. So finally I decided to pick my book " The Baby Whisperer" by Tracy Hogg and my problems were solved in no time!! My biggest game changers were: 1) Getting Sadie on a routine ( The EASY routine) 2) Making sure her tummy was full Obviously there can be many issues that can take us a bit to figure out but these two were what was contributing to Sadie not being happy and not sleeping hardly at all. I highly recommend this book to any new or old Mommas out there. And you can essentially start it at any time too. But for sure the best is if you can get your baby on a routine asap;) Please feel free to comment below with any tips and tricks or questions! Thanks so much for watching and don't be afraid to check out some of my other videos!! https://www.youtube.com/user/ProsRealLife

This is how we got our newborn to sleep through the night. We've been doing this since she was born and it has helped the wifey and myself get lots of needed sleep. Of course there has been nights where we've had to be up to tend to her but I can honestly say that 90% of the time she has slept right through. Baby was unusually fussy today when putting her down. We've been using the shush pat method (baby whisperer book) and its been working great. Lots of work leading up to this point and shush patting her for hours on end, but now the rewards are coming and she's going down so much quicker (and staying down). Started this method on Thursday and this video is taken Monday evening. Have used the method for every sleep (nap + nighttime) since then. Baby is 9 wks old. The common theme throughout these books is “the pause”. It’s a parenting strategy of waiting and observing your baby to see what they really need before rushing in to pick them up at every cry. They also talk about getting your baby on a flexible schedule so baby (and you!) knows what to expect. Do you want to help your baby or child feel more independent, while still making sure they feel loved? Tracy Hogg, author of "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer," gave tips to Offspring. They include figuring out what your child needs, before rushing to help them out. She also suggests giving your child space when they're focusing. Whether it be reading, working on math or even eating, Hogg says that most parents tend to interrupt their concentration with questions like "Do you need help?" Hogg also reminds parents to respect their child by not talking about them in third person when they're around, even when they're a baby. https://offspring.lifehacker.com/how-to-help-your-child-become-more-independent-1819190201 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

So although sticking to a strict routine never worked for us, heres some of my thoughts from experience as to why I believe a mixture of both are best. Some babies can thrive off a routine, and if nailed, mama gets some time to herself. However, it doesn't always mean this is the best way for your little one. She may need you and your boob more than 3 hourly increments. Would love to hear from you guys! Do you think routines should not be used at all? Have you got a great routine on the go that baby rarely deviates from? Are you struggling with feeding on demand? Lets support each other lovingly tribe. http://annesamoilov.com Hi Everyone, my name is Anne Samoilov. Some people still know me as Anne Miller, so I just keep using both names. Thanks for continuing to watching the first video on YouTube. This is part two, where I continue to talk about some of the challenges I faced the first year of having a baby and making that shift back to myself now that she's 1!I I'm ready to live and share my true purpose! My mentors are: Wayne Dyer Jack Canfield Maria Andros Alexi Sebasttien Dani Johnson Rich Schefren But before I found these mentors, I was struggling in my new role as mother. I spent a year completely removed from my true self. I didn't feel like the Anne that went into the hospital to have my daughter. Life was no longer familiar to me. 2008 was a difficult year. I've heard that the first year of being a mom is the most difficult. Then again, I hear it keeps getting more difficult in many different ways. From day one, I kept wondering why I didn't have an instruction manual. It took me a long time to really accept the fact that she was an individual beautiful little being that had a mind of her own -- even at the beginning! For a long time, she didn't sleep like I thought she should. She didn't nap well. She seemed to be unhappy out in the world. Some books I read during the beginning: Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby by Tracy Hogg and Melinda Blau On Becoming Baby Wise: Giving Your Infant the Gift of Nighttime Sleep (On Becoming. . .) (Paperback) by Gary Ezzo (Author), Robert Bucknam (Author) The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night (Paperback) by Elizabeth Pantley (Author), William Sears (Author) What to Expect the First Year (Paperback) by Heidi Murkoff (Author) But it wasn't until I found the following book that things started to become clear to me. Also, by that time I think I had relaxed a bit and was starting to see Mila's sleep patterns - not what I wanted, but what she wanted and needed. Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child (Paperback) by Marc Weissbluth (Author) Don't get me wrong...some of the advice from this book helped a lot (especially the swaddling blanket...get The Miracle Blanket!!!): The Happiest Baby on the Block: The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Newborn Baby Sleep Longer (Paperback) by Harvey Karp Eventually, Mila's sleep patterns were so obvious that I just had to go with them. She couldn't have been any clearer to me than she was! By the time her first birthday rolled around, I realized I was a complete mess. I decided I needed to make a change. My own birthday was only 2 weeks from her bday, so I decided it was a perfect marker for my change. A series of events happened once I made this shift in my brain. My mom recommended a book/movie that I'd already seen, but clearly I needed to reminded... The Secret. www.secret.tv. Then, I found: (re-discovered) Wayne Dyer Jack Canfield Maria Andros I'm so excited where life is leading now! Thank you so much for watching. I hope that my experience can help others who are feeling hopeless or maybe even hopeful that their life can change, but just don't know what to do! Subscribe and join me on my journey back to life!
