Magazine Rack with BUILT IN Toilet Roll Holder | Part 1 | Cheap Wood Projects

237 ratings | 9691 views
In this series, I show you how I made a high quality piece including dovetails, mortice and tenons and housing joints using nothing but cheap timber found at a DIY supplier. The series focuses on selecting timber, planing rough wood square and joining it together. Hope you enjoy! _________________________________________________________________ Support what I do by becoming a Patron! I come from 5 years tuition at Rycotewood Furniture Centre and 4 years experience working at Axminster Tools and Machinery where I still currently work on weekends. During the week, I film woodworking projects, tutorials, reviews and a viewer favourite 'Tool Duel' where I compare two cometitive manufacturers tools against one another to find out which is best. I like to have a laugh and my videos are quite fast paced BUT you will learn a lot, I assure you. Lets go make a mess. _________________________________________________________________ INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/mattestleafurniture/ PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/mattestlea MUSIC BY EPIDEMIC SOUND: http://www.epidemicsound.com/ MATT ESTLEA WOODWORK 2018

In the old days we had the Radio Times, a sort of colour version of a newspaper. I won't elaborate, but I think you know where I'm going with this one?

Hi, I'm from India and I have been working and practicing woodworking (mostly Western style) from more than 2 years now. And now I'm looking for a place where I can learn and earn my bread and butter. Can you suggest me some place?

Also - I was thinking. Why don't you add another footing to your bench hook, so that it hooks on both sides around the first half of the table table? It would be more secure that way. You should totally do it and then thank me.

One of the benefits to this design is that if you run out of toilet paper, you can resort to wiping your botty with magazine paper.

Hi I just came across an amazing collection of woodworking plans! If you’d like me to give you access, click here: https://www.download-woodworkingplans.com/download-plans/

really?? who sits on a toilet long enough to read a magazine? get in, do the job you're there for, clean up, get out... why anyone would want to spend any longer in there than absolutely necessary is beyond me!!!

You've never had a poo you couldn't rush?

The good old Dunny roll holder, a necessity that warms the heart when needed lol 👍👍👍

Nice design, but it needs stronger wall mounting points and a straining bar.

Are you shittin' me? lol

Yikes ... that sandpaper roll certainly wouldn’t be a good substitute for toilet paper!!! 😉
Matt Estlea (1 year ago)
Deep clean though!

80 grit sandpaper, you only need to wipe once...

This is a brilliant idea

Jesus, millennials. Can't even use sandpaper to wipe their asses.

Love this! Very excited about this series!

Cool idea. Was thinking of a similar design of bog roll and toilet wipe holder. Looking forward to making this.👍

I actually kinda love that you don't use any electronic power tools such as a rotary saw. Is there a reason why you prefer traditional tools which might be less time efficient?
Matt Estlea (1 year ago)
Oh I most certainly do when the time comes for it! Have a look at my video on making this workbench. Although they are slower, I do find enjoyment in using hand tools during my projects, especially for little things like this.

Some one said Matt was gay? He's making a magizine rack, with a toilet paper holder. Only the straightest guy in the world would think that up. The only thing that would make more male-sih is a place to hold your beer. My hat is off to you Matt.
Richard Masters (1 year ago)
Oh yes, and a place for a spatula.  ..........Think about it!!
Richard Masters (1 year ago)
No no, not beer but an optic for the gin bottle and a place for the tonic.
Christopher Johns (1 year ago)
the toilet roll at 4:44 is what you find in motorway service toilets
Broccoli? Again?? (1 year ago)
It is explicitly forbidden to use the company supplied toilet paper for sanding works on non company cars.

Preach!

what kind of magazines require you to have toilet tissue at close hands? ... ohhh :D

So is a Bog a toilet? Like you do your business in the bog? Who the hell is Lou?
Joel McKinley (1 year ago)
It’s an expression on my side of the pond to “Drop the kids off at the pool”
Matt Estlea (1 year ago)
British words for ‘toilet’ - Loo - Bog - Pan - Bowl - Porcelain The last one being used in situations such as ‘Be right back, just gonna paint some porcelain’

I hear sandpaper removes deep dirt...
