Your middle wasn't touching after molding, but you screwed it all the way down. That's why your fit was so crazy tight. If you stuck a rubber bushing in between on the two middle holes, you could have adjusted your fit in a few seconds with a screwdriver... Just a thought. I noticed right away you forgot your snap caps! It's easy to make mistakes when you're filming that you wouldn't normally make. Nice vid, thanks!

Way to long if a video. To many things we don’t need to hear, nor care.

Geezus that was totally boring. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill .

Good video but you really drag things out. My first wife did that and drove me nuts.

My only gripe, just get to the meat and potatoes. We all have different magazines and want to see how you made it. Don't need a story

how much would it cost for you to make me one for my airsoft pistol mag?
TFR (1 year ago)
Make one yourself and for airsoft? Use a cloth pouch.
cameron walrod (2 years ago)

M.Azam Khan (1 year ago)
cameron walrod can't see why not, I've seen alot of kydex mag carriers for ar's.

you should watch other videos before you shoot your own, a lot of mistakes in your porcess
Stanley Stanley (2 years ago)
but I hope you are using flat tray now, all the best

Wasn't meant to be a complex tutorial, just a simple you can do it. 30 seconds in I indicate you should watch other videos.

adjustable screws work way better than eyelets. at least you can adjust without losing detail

You can heat kydex to 350 degrees but you need a inferred thermometer to keep extremely close tabs on the temp. Over 350 degrees and you start to have issues with the kydex. Also, It is better to heat the kydex fast. In fact, the faster the better. Slow heating causes the plastic to release gas which is why it starts to swell and shine. The inferred thermometer is key. Hope this helps. Index Point Holsters.

Put a piece of ceramic tile in the oven and place the kydex on top of the tile. The tile will distribute the heat through the kydex much better.

+Gregory P Great Tip, thanks
Cole Moseley (3 years ago)
Just a pointer. The thicker Kydex will last longer and won't break. .060 is known to just snap/crack during use.
No, it's not.

great video on made my own holsters and I like them more than anything I have purchased but mag pouches have been kicking my ass. it's now 0200 and I'm in my shop making mag pouches lol
Rob roberson (3 years ago)
slow down on heating, also loaded mags need a bit of room for bullet ats it sticks out of gun mag.
Jim Rodgers (3 years ago)
Great video. You helped me troubleshoot a few issues I've had trying to make mag holsters. Well done.

+Jim Rodgers Thanks, glad to have helped

over explained all the unimportant stuff... didnt explain any of the stuff that matters.
sportsman48 (3 years ago)
I really enjoyed your video. One thing I've seen others do that may help you is putting a wrap or 2 of blue tape around the gun or mag. That'll give you some extra space in the molding.
Andrew Marko (3 years ago)
The reason your Kydex shrivels is not because of the temperature, 350 is actually alright, it's because you're heating it too fast. If you let the kydex heat up with the toaster oven rather that heating the toaster oven and throwing the kydex in it, that should help.
Stubby TylerKinney (3 years ago)
nice video.  have you tried using tape on your mags to give them couple 1000ths clearance before you mold? It worked well on my holster haven't tried it with a mag pouch
lanier Page (4 years ago)
try white color pencil for marking. Its easier to remove.
